HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL star Vanessa Hudgens just announced a new unscripted movie about her “spiritual witchcraft journey.”

The new movie, DEAD HOT: SEASON OF THE WITCH, is reportedly a 90-minute exploration of the “supernatural.”

The project also features Hudgens’ friend, GG Magreem, as the pair of them go to Salem, Massachusetts, to educate themselves on witchcraft.

“They’ve been doing little spells since they were kids, and they were just really interested in that world,” Julie Pizzi, president of Bunim-Murray Productions, told Faithwire. “As we got to know them, we realized that their curiosity in connecting with the spirit realm and paranormal and supernatural exploration was so much deeper than ghost hunting.

“It’s an exploration in the spiritual realm. It’s a lot about self-love, and them finding their inner strength and power,” she added.

Hudgens first revealed her obsession with the supernatural in a recent episode of THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW, where she claimed she has the “gift” of seeing and hearing spiritual happenings.

“I remember getting ready for school when I was 8 years old, and there was, like — you know those ducks that, like, is like the duck thing that you pull?” she said. “It’s a toy. There was one of those on the dining room table, and I started walking, and it just started, like, going alongside me.

“And I kind of shut it down for a while, because it’s scary,” she continued. “The unknown is scary … but I recently was like, no, this is a gift and something that I have the ability to do, so I’m going to lean into it.

“My favorite thing is a spirit box,” she added. “And it basically scans radio frequencies really quickly.”

Hudgens even shared a story about her and her best friend trying to talk to the dead.

“I was sitting at a tombstone in a graveyard with my best friend,” she recalled. “And we found this one tombstone of a spirit that we were told was very playful. So, I turned it on, and I’m like, ‘Hi, Sam. I’m Vanessa.’”

The popularity of witchcraft is on the rise and is advertised by major tech companies like Disney as the norm. But parents must be weary of the implications of allowing their children to consume such content.

Movieguide® previously reported:

Jeannie Ortega Law signed with Hollywood Records at age 16. Her singles were featured on Disney Radio. She went on tour with Rihanna. Everything she wanted was right there.

Then, in 2007, Ortega Law had a life-changing encounter with the Lord and decided to use her gifts to glorify Him.

Her time in the entertainment industry and witnessing Santaria rituals suddenly became catapults against the enemy in spiritual warfare as she identifies what Satan is attempting to do in the media.

“I think that witchcraft has always been present in media. Every single movie that we saw as children, there was always that wicked person that would use magic or spells and things like that to try to destroy the hero,” Ortega Law says. “But now, what’s different than when we were growing up, is [witchcraft] is celebrated. Maleficent is now the main character. She’s not just the supporting role. I think for us, we had an understanding that some of these witches and then people in cartoons that were evil, they were evil. We understood that. We were told that. Now [witchcraft] is kind of glamorized. It’s totally inserted everywhere, and it’s being encouraged.”

However, Ortega Law says, Christians shouldn’t boycott the media. Instead, believers have an obligation to engage in the spiritual battle happening on the screens.

“We’re called to be the light in the dark. We’re called to be the the salt of the earth,” Ortega Law says. “If we’re not stepping up to the plate to be the light, to shine the light, then we are withdrawing. We’re pretty much giving up our influence. We’re allowing the enemy to just rule and reign. And if that was the case, if we were not meant to do anything, then I’m pretty sure Jesus would take us home. If we’re on the earth, then there’s a purpose. If we’re still here, there’s a purpose for our life.”
