“Welcome to Adventures in Odyssey” on the big screen! Fans of the beloved audio series will get a front row seat to their favorite Odyssey characters in the upcoming ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY: JOURNEY INTO THE IMPOSSIBLE movie.
“There’s an Adventures in Odyssey animated feature film coming to movie theaters in the fall of 2026,” the Odyssey team announced in a recent video.
But iconic characters like Connie, Eugene and Wooton won’t make an appearance.
“We’re not positioning this show inside the time frame of the audio series,” explained producer Dave Arnold. “So to me, the fertile ground really was in a different era.”
So, he decided to go back to the beginning: John Avery Whitaker’s origin story.

“That’s when we need to do this story is before the audio story so we can see all of the backstory, the origin of the audio show,” he explained. “You will see Whit, you’ll see Jenny, his wife, you’ll see Jason, and that’s where the story begins.”
The team tapped John Pomeroy, a Disney animator, early in the process. Other information about casting, though, hasn’t been announced.
ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY: JOURNEY INTO THE IMPOSSIBLE is set to premier in theaters fall of 2026, and fans can’t wait.
“Your show has accompanied my family on road trips for decades!!” one person said in the Instagram comment section. Another person added, “So cool!!!! My family has loved Adventures in Odyssey since before I was born!”
Adventures in Odyssey has been a staple in Christian homes since the late ’80s. Now, with over 1,000 episodes, it’s one of the longest-running audio dramas in history, its website explained.
It added, “The radio show has led to the creation of 17 videos, more than two dozen novels, plus video games, music albums, and more. Over one thousand original stories have been told in the world of Odyssey.”
The new “feature film” isn’t the first movie based off Adventures in Odyssey.
Previously, they released ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY: THE KNIGHT TRAVELERS, which received the highest rating possible from Movieguide®.
The review reads, “Throughout the story, the presence of God is acknowledged by Mr. Whitaker, who while having more ‘neat stuff’ than Dylan can fathom, can only triumph over Faustus by divine grace. ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY: THE KNIGHT TRAVELERS is an entertaining, comical, and edifying program.”
ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY is proof that people want wholesome, faith-based media. After decades of storytelling, they continue to bring safe, inspiring content to families nationwide.
