AMERICAN IDOL contestants Brianna Nix and Rylie O’Neil went head to head on Hollywood Week with Brandon Lake’s song, “Gratitude.”

“I know how difficult it is to come into the entertainment industry and bring your faith with you,” IDOL alum and now judge Carrie Underwood said. “It is a brave thing to do because there are a lot of outside forces that are going to tell you not to do that.”

Lake’s worship song has been streamed nearly 130 million times.

This isn’t “Gratitude’s” first appearance on a singing competition.

On THE VOICE’s 22nd season, Bodie Kuljian sang “Gratitude,” as his final performance, though he ultimately lost to Bryce Leatherwood.

Watch AMERICAN IDOL’s Nix and O’Neil join together in worship – even though they’re going head-to-head – blow.
