Another batch of BLUEY minisodes just dropped!
Seven new minisodes started streaming on Disney+ on Oct. 7, rolling out on Disney Jr., Disney Channel, and Disney Jr. On Demand throughout the rest of the week.
“Disney announced the BLUEY Minisodes in May, with 20 short episodes set to drop throughout the year,” CNET wrote. “Each one clocks in at roughly one to three minutes in length, making for a surprisingly easy weekend binge.”
The first set of BLUEY minisodes premiered in July, and “the third and final batch will be announced at a later date,” according to a Disney press release.
A portion of the Movieguide® review for the first collection of BLUEY minisodes reads:
The first seven programs of BLUEY MINISODES are a creative slam dunk. Similar to the original program, this collection is funny and enjoyable for both children and adults. The comedy is witty, and the art design is fantastic. This collection stresses sharing life lessons, children and parents playing together, and a positive depiction of a caring father. Objectionable content is nowhere to be seen. Therefore, MOVIEGUIDE® highly commends this new beginning to a BLUEY spinoff. MOVIEGUIDE® will have reviews of the next programs in BLUEY MINISODES as Disney+ releases them later this year and in 2025.
In addition to the minisodes, BLUEY fans also have another exciting project to look forward to — Bluey: Rug Island, a 16-track album of original music from the series.
“Bluey: Rug Island, recorded in Brisbane, Australia, is a playful journey through the imaginations of sisters Bluey and Bingo,” 96.5 FM reported. “Featuring tracks from all three series, the album takes inspiration from the episode ‘Rug Island’ — a place where children play, and adults embrace their inner kid.”
Bluey: Rug Island will drop Oct. 25.
Movieguide® previously reported on the minisodes:
BLUEY fans will have seven more minisodes (mini episodes) to enjoy on Disney+, Disney Channel and Disney Jr. on Oct. 7.
The new episodes are titled “Tattoo Shop,” “Phoney,” “Blocks,” “Government,” “Drums,” “Browny Bear” and “Whirlpool.”
Aussie fans will get early access to the minisodes on Oct. 4. Each minisode lasts one to three minutes. This is the second batch of minisodes, as the first bunch came out in July.
“According to Nielsen, BLUEY is the No. 1 most-watched series on streaming this year (2024) to-date among total viewers in the U.S., with over 35 billion minutes watched (584M hours)*,” the release said. “The series follows Bluey, a lovable and inexhaustible blue heeler dog who lives with her Mum, Dad and little sister, Bingo.”
BLUEY has earned a Peabody Award, BAFTA Children & Young People Award, two Television Critics and Association Awards, the International Kids Emmy Award and more. Its production studio, Ludo, has won multiple Emmys.
