Bethany Hamilton Cherishes Motherhood: ‘What a Gift’

By Movieguide® Contributor

In a recent Instagram post, professional surfer Bethany Hamilton shared the joy she finds in being a mom.

“Motherhood sharpens you, calls you to a greater purpose to guide, serve and protect,” Hamilton said. “To love someone beyond yourself. Somedays you count the minutes till bedtime. All while wishing you could slow down time. What a gift.”

For the video, the surfer partnered with EveryLife, a company that aims “to provide premium products for every baby. Because every baby is a miracle from God who deserves to be loved, protected, and supported.”

The company often reminds its followers that children are precious and life is valuable.

On Jan. 17, EveryLife shared a video that highlighted “multiple quotes that showcase the disastrous worldview underlying the depopulation movement…We believe that lies lead to death and truth leads to life – and the truth is: children are the greatest blessing and the growth of humanity is a good thing.”

“In a world where the prevailing narrative devalues life, we know children are our greatest blessing – a gift, even. Full of wonder, curiosity, and boundless love, they have an extraordinary way of making our world better,” the company wrote. “That’s the very foundation of ‘Make More Babies.’ It may be a bold statement that challenges societal norms, but it’s who we are. It’s what we believe. And it’s where we stand.”

Hamilton often opens up about her motherhood journey on Instagram. She recently posted a video showing her baking with her children.

“Do you bake with your children?! It actually went great!!! Though the olive oil is overpowering the vanilla and I forgot a whole cup of milk because halfway through baking I decided to double the my version of the recipe,” she wrote. “But the children did great and we mostly had fun!!! I’ve found that with good direction, expectations and patience you CAN include your children in the kitchen! It’s a sweet way to share life together.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Hamilton:

On Wednesday, pro-surfer Bethany Hamilton visited the place where a shark attacked her and took her left arm 20 years ago.

“20 years later…This was the location of my shark incident as a 13-year-old girl,” Hamilton captioned photos on Instagram.

Hamilton shared three photos. In the first, 13-year-old Hamilton stands in the spot of the attack and holds a surfboard with a huge chunk bitten out of it and her left arm gone. The second and third photos show her now with a whole surfboard. She wears an identical swimsuit to the one she wore at 13. In the third photo, she smiles confidently.

“I’m in awe of how much God has made beauty out of something so scary and so awful. When we face challenges, it can be hard to have hope beyond our chaos, but it is essential,” the surfer said. “I hope that my life can be a ✨hint of hope✨for you in the challenges that you face. I see the challenges along the way as a call to live in faith and to trust in God to carry me through it all! I’m so grateful to God for his faithfulness ???”
