The athlete has Philippians 4:13 in his Instagram bio. The verse reads, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Irving also posts about his faith, and an October post shared how he came to follow Jesus.

“God gave his toughest battle to his toughest soldiers. Don’t cry for me when the war is over,” Irving began. “I died on the cross yesterday. My eyes open to who is here for me as a football player, and who is here for me as Mar’Keise Bucky Irving…”

“These people in these pictures describe what pain looks like. I admire these people,” he continued. “We worry about the wrong things in life. We need to come together as a community, love one another, and follow faith in Jesus’ name. We all gotta come together. This is divine in too many different ways.”

“We worry about the wrong things in life. We just need to come together and love one another,” Irving added. “This life is about family, 10 times just like. Life is hard, you have people you can talk to…don’t be afraid to ask for help…Can’t hide no more, I gotta open up. I’ve been in this shell for too long. GOD is real.”

“Thank you, Lord, I’m here. I never imagined this…❤️” he wrote in another post.

Irving had one of his best games of the season on Sunday after he was baptized.

According to the Buccaneers, “Baker Mayfield connected with Bucky Irving on a swing pass, and he maneuvered his way to the end zone for a 24-yard touchdown, evening the score at seven.”

Irving would end the game with 55 yards on 15 carries.

However, the Bucs lost to the Saints 20-24 and the division lead.

Praise God for the transformation He’s brought in Irving’s life. Keep the athlete in your prayers as he continues to pursue God and seeks to grow closer to Him.
