This GAF Star Celebrates Being a Mom

Candace Cameron Bure just shared a sweet video that showcases her love of being a mother.
“Remember this about your mom,” the video’s narrator said over a montage of clips of Bure and her family. “What’s in it for your mom? You’ll meet a lot of people in your life and you’ll talk to a lot of people, and as you talk to them, there’ll always be something for them. Your mom is the only person on earth where there’s not — she’s not in it for anything other than you.”
The narrator continued, “The only thing that’s in it for her is you. Watching you become the best person you can be. You’re your mom’s greatest story, your mom’s greatest mission. That’s what’s in it for her. You’re the greatest thing ever for her. And what’s in it for her is watching you become the person she knows you can be. That’s all it is. So it’s all about you. It was always about you.”
“So the next time you’re listening to your mom and you really don’t want to hear it, trust me, listen,” the narrator concluded. “Because it’s all for you, and there’s nothing in it for your mom, other than seeing you become that person.”
In the video’s caption, Bure wrote, “I love being their Mom.”
Bure is mom to three kids — Natasha, 26, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23.
In an interview with The Christian Post, the Great American Family actress shared how she instills biblical values in her children while parenting.
“I trained my kids up with biblical values, and the Bible is where we started and what we continue to read today,” she said. “Even when my kids were young, I had the fruit of the Spirit lettered on their walls to remind them of all of the fruit of the Spirit: joy, love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control. We talk about those things.”
Bure continued, “The Bible tells us to ‘train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old, they won’t depart from it.’ I believe in intentional parenting. We taught out of the Bible, and I’m grateful to see that I have adult children today who are all following that road and that path, loving the Lord.”

In addition to parenting, Bure is also getting used to a new role as a mother-in-law. Her son Lev married Elliott Dunham last year.
“I strive to be a mother-in-love,” she told GOOD MORNING AMERICA. “I very much want to be a complement to my children’s marriages. We always hear, ‘Ugh, the mother-in-law’ and we roll our eyes. Mothers-in-laws get a bad rap — and there’s a lot of bad mother-in-laws out there!”
She added, “I love my daughter-in-law. She’s so wonderful. I don’t want to be pushy or put pressure on anyone. I just want to be here to encourage, support and love. And hopefully, if or when they have kids, to be a great, helpful grandmother.”
