Faith Finds a Place in Hollywood? Candace Cameron Bure Says People Are ‘Less Afraid’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Candace Cameron Bure thinks people in Hollywood are becoming more open about standing up for their faith.
“I feel like people are just a little less afraid of being canceled now that they can share their faith openly or whatever their opinions are [even] if they’re not congruent with some other people’s opinions,” she told Fox News at the Movieguide® Awards last week. “And, so, I love seeing this in our country, and I’m hopeful. I’m very hopeful.”
Bure was up for Movieguide®’s Grace Prize for Television Performance for her role in A CHRISTMAS LESS TRAVELED.
“WHAT A JOY last Friday night was 🎥⭐️ I was able to be with some of my favorite people to celebrate the @movieguide awards hosted by @greatamericanpureflix @greatamericanfamily!!” she posted on Instagram along with a carousel of photos from the event.
“You can watch the Movie Guide awards on March 6th on Great American Family channel ❤️ and a big thank you to @theonly_davidrobert + @lyndsayzmakeup + @erinnoella for making me feel like the prettiest disco ball 🪩✨ ” Bure added.

Fans commented kind words on the post.
“You are beautiful and that dress is everything!” one user said. Another person commented, “Beautiful ❤️✨Love what The Great American 🇺🇸 Family is doing to keep traditional, godly, righteous holy family values upfront and Center. God bless you all we love you thank you thank you thank you!!!!🙏”
Bure is committed to faith and family-focused entertainment because she knows it offers fans something “deeper,” especially her Christmas movies.
“I love that we are bringing stories of faith,” Bure told US Weekly in an interview. “I mean, we have ones that aren’t about faith and more in the traditional like romcom space, but our viewers really want messages that are more meaningful. They love that we say Jesus because, you know, a lot of people celebrate Christmas. We know the reason we celebrate Christmas is because of the birth of Christ and yet so many of our movies and I’ve made tons of them that don’t ever mention the real meaning of Christmas.”
GAF CEO Greg Abbott credits the actress’ passion for much of the network’s success.
“Candace Cameron Bure has a knack for finding beautifully crafted, meaningful stories that she and her team nurture into great family films,” Abbott said last March.
