Candace Cameron Bure recently shared a prayerful moment with husband Val that moved her emotionally.

“You know, my husband prayed for me this morning,” she said during an episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast.” “I was driving here to work — we’re not in the same city right now…I threw my back out and said, ‘I’m a little cranky today’…and so he was like, ‘Can I pray for you right now on the phone?’ And like, that…all of a sudden, I’m crying. I’m like, ‘Yes, please.’”

Bure explained, “Just the words ‘Can I pray for you?’ mean so much, because you’re interceding on behalf of someone to God for them, but you’re with them in the moment, so I absolutely love that.”

The FULL HOUSE actress has previously spoken about the major role faith plays in her relationship with Val. The pair wed in 1996 after her co-star Dave Coulier introduced them at a charity hockey game in 1994.

In a 2025 interview with Fox News, Bure acknowledged that there have been moments of “deep brokenness” in their marriage and that faith always saw them through those dark times.

“You know, we all go through disappointments in life at times, and that can look so different for so many people, whether it’s through family moments or loss in loved ones or grief through career, you know, not having life pan out the way that you want to,” she explained. “And yet God is in the restoration business, and that’s what I love so very much.”

Bure’s son Lev even used scripture to counsel his parents through a “really, really rough season” where things in their marriage “went south.”

“[He] preached, like, a 45-minute sermon on marriage,” she said in an episode of her podcast. “[He] just had his Bible open on the couch and just talked about it…I’ll never forget. He said, ‘You know, I know I haven’t been married. I’m just a young kid. And so it’s probably hard to take marriage advice from someone this young [who] never experienced it before. But I don’t need to be married to know what the word of God says.’”

Bure added that she and her husband walked away from that conversation thinking, “We raised some pretty good kids.”

For Bure and her husband, faith is the bedrock of their marriage, helping them get through good times and bad.
