How These GAF Actors Found ‘Supernatural Peace’ After Heartbreaking Loss

Carlos PenaVega and his wife Alexa are keeping their heads up amid terrible heartbreak, and it’s all thanks to God.
“God has just been covering us,” Carlos told CBN News recently.
The couple lost their fourth child late into Alexa’s pregnancy last year. Their daughter, Indy, was stillborn.
“She was so beautiful,” Alexa previously recalled. “She was a chunky little girl, looked just like Carlos.”
The very next day after the loss, they still attended church — in the Tennessee town they had just moved to.
“Me, and Alexa, and our three kids went to church that next day and we didn’t know anybody,” Carlos recalled. “It was our second time ever going, and we were worshiping…and I’ll never forget that we’re standing in the middle…and Alexa and I are holding each other and we’re just bawling.”
Carlos felt a “supernatural peace” as people surrounded and prayed for them.
“It was like God’s saying…‘You’re not alone. I got you, and I have you here for a reason, and I’m gonna take you [through] this and make it into something amazing,’” he said.

Alexa said, “It was awful. It was so so, so unbelievably awful. But there also was this great feeling of peace that I cannot explain that we experienced,” she said, adding that she felt “blessed” in some ways. “…You had to like dig so deep into a place of like healing and meeting God and understanding life in a whole different way that most people don’t have to experience.”
Carlos has been amazed by how God has transformed Alexa through the loss.
“Because how do you live after that?” he said. “That we have over it…I just keep saying it’s…supernatural — like, God is just covering us. He has a reason for everything, and He takes whatever the enemy meant for evil and turned it to good.”
A couple of months after the loss, the couple soon went back to work on their latest Great American Family movie, GET HIM BACK FOR CHRISTMAS. They helped create it through their production company, Good for You Entertainment.
“We really believe in creating content that is good for you,” Carlos said. “We feel very strongly that we need more content that is family-friendly. It doesn’t need to be PG-13 or R to be a good movie.”
