By Movieguide® Contributor
CBS’ FBI teams will join forces as the casts of FBI, FBI: INTERNATIONAL and FBI: MOST WANTED come together in a three-hour global crossover event on Tuesday, April 4.
“As the FBIs continue to dominate on Tuesday nights, we are excited to reward our devoted fans with this special three-hour global crossover event that will bring these three heroic—and popular—teams together for a second time,” Eric Kim, executive vice president of programming for CBS Entertainment and CBS Studios, said.
He added, “Our April 4 crossover event will be a non-stop thrilling experience that will keep viewers engaged in ways that only Dick Wolf’s ‘FBI’ world can.”
Each show garners millions of devoted fans. FBI boasts 11.3 million viewers, while FBI: MOST WANTED has 9.6 million and FBI: INTERNATIONAL draws 9.1 million. Additionally, seven FBI episodes made Variety’s annual 100 most-watched primetime telecasts list.
While this will be the second crossover in the FBI franchise, it will be the first featuring Dylan McDermott and Edwin Hodge in FBI: MOST WANTED and Eva-Jane Willis in FBI: INTERNATIONAL.
The crossover event will kickoff with FBI: INTERNATIONAL at 8 p.m. followed by FBI at 9 p.m. and FBI: MOST WANTED at 10 p.m. on April 4.
Movieguide® previously reported on CBS’ NCIS crossover event:
CBS recently announced an upcoming three-hour crossover episode featuring NCIS, NCIS: HAWAI’I, and NCIS: LOS ANGELES.
The three-hour special will debut on the network on Jan. 2, according to Deadline.
“We are so excited to finally have the long-awaited, first-ever NCIS-verse crossover to share with our passionate, loyal viewers,” Amy Reisenbach of CBS said. “The popularity, longevity, and continued success of the franchise is a testament to the immense talent of the casts and writing and producing teams who bring these shows to life. They came up with a thrilling story for this epic three-hour event that creatively brings all three NCIS teams together for fans to enjoy in one night and beyond.”
The teams from each of the shows will have to work together to track down a hitman, according to the episode’s plot.
NCIS remains one of CBS’ most-watched shows, with over 4.1 trillion minutes viewed across all branches of the series.
