CBS released its programming schedule for this fall and revealed it will be moving FBI and FBI: CIA to Monday, while NCIS, NCIS: ORIGINS and NCIS: SYDNEY will move into the three-hour “Super Tuesday” time slot.

“This season, our new and returning series continue to showcase CBS as the leader in launching and programming the biggest hits with mass appeal for broadcast and streaming viewers,” Amy Reisenbach, the president of CBS Entertainment, said when the first round of shows for the upcoming season was announced. “These returning shows represent a mix of long-standing hits and a new generation of fan favorites. In collaboration with our extraordinarily talented partners in front of and behind the camera, we look forward to delivering another successful season.”

Great thought went into these changes as well as the rest of the lineup which include the same Thursday night block as before — GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE, GHOSTS, MATLOCK and ELSBETH — along with a Friday night that includes FIRE COUNTRY along with a new spinoff SHERIFF COUNTRY and the BLUE BLOODS spinoff: BOSTON BLUE.

“We’ve heard the audience, and we have stacked Tuesday,” Reisenbach said, per Deadline, adding, “there are higher PUT levels for Monday, and we feel this is a great counter-programming to sports and reality on the other networks.”

While the shifts in the network’s programming may take some adjusting of fans’ schedules, the network knows what it is doing, as it recently secured its 17th straight season with the most viewership during primetime hours. This achievement was accomplished through TRACKER, 60 MINUTES, GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE, MATLOCK, FBI, NCIS and ELSBETH, all regularly ranking among the top 10 non-sports programming throughout the year.

CBS is looking to add to this list of hard hitters through BOSTON BLUE, its new BLUE BLOODS spinoff. The series will focus on Danny Reagan as he moves from New York to Boston.

“Now it’s just Danny going to this new world. But, you know, I can’t say a lot about it, but I could say, you know, if he’s a Reagan, it’ll never just be Dan. He’ll always be a Reagan a phone call away,” Donnie Wahlberg told Fox News.

“Once I started to like what [BOSTON] BLUE was; started to see the opportunity that BOSTON BLUE was, that it’s really a chance for us to carry on the tradition and legacy of [BLUE BLOODS],” he added.

Now that the spring season is winding down, like all of these other shows, fans will have to wait out the long summer before they can enjoy BOSTON BLUE, but CBS’s fall lineup gives them much to be excited about.
