Christian artist, poet and influencer Morgan Harper Nichols was forced to evacuate her home in Georgia following a bio lab chemical fire that occurred after Hurricane Helene tore through the area.
“My family and I are safe, and I’m actively keeping an eye on the situation. I know many are being affected in difficult ways right now and I hope we can all continue looking out for one another in whatever ways we can and please make sure to stay informed through emergency updates on official websites and alert systems,” Harper Nichols wrote on Instagram.

The chemical fire comes just days after Hurrican Helene devastated much of the Southeast of the United States.
Rockdale County Fire Chief Marian McDaniel said it was too early to tell if the fire was caused by some of the storm damage.
The storm hit late Thursday night, spiraling up the east coast, leaving significant damage in its wake. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said at least 17 people died as a result of the hurricane in Georgia.
Across the wider region, more than 100 deaths have been attributed to the Category 4 hurricane in the southeast U.S. More than 2 million homes and businesses are without power.
Franklin Graham, Billy Graham’s son and the head of Samaritan’s Purse, posted several photos showing the damage in his home state of North Carolina.
