Cindy Busby, who plays attorney Nora Anderson in WHEN HOPE CALLS, is talking about what the Season 2 cliffhanger means for her character.

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead!

In Season 2’s finale, Nora’s ex-assistant, Zoe, tells her that she had accidentally helped another lawyer within Nora’s firm bribe a judge to give favorable rulings, including for a case Nora thought she won fairly.

“I see that storyline not going well,” Busby told Soaps this week. “It’ll probably cause a lot of issues to come up for her, where Nora might have to go back to San Francisco to handle things or perhaps the trouble will find her in Brookfield, and she’ll have to salvage her reputation and make people believe that she wasn’t trying to buy her way out of the legal system by doing things the wrong way, because she does indeed have a lot of integrity and didn’t know what she was involved in.”

It could also affect her budding romance with Mountie Michael Fletcher.

“It’s going to put a barrier between her and Michael, and will cause a lot of fear,” Busby said. “What if he finds out? What’s gonna happen? Am I gonna go to jail?”

Though it may be a roadblock, it’s only temporary. Busby still sees a future for the characters despite the setback.

“Mountie Michael is there in Brookfield for a temporary amount of time,” she explained. “There’s a great conversation between Mountie Reynolds and Mountie Michael, where they talk, he’s like, ‘You know, this job is temporary, and it’s not forever. Don’t get too attached to anyone here.”

So though Michael is attracted to Nora, he’s hesitant to make a move.

While a WHEN CALLS THE HEART crossover isn’t promised, Busby believes a WTCH character could easily pop in the WHC’s world.

“Maybe a Mountie. I mean, I did a movie years ago with Kevin McGarry (Nathan Grant). He’s such a great guy. We laugh all the time. He’s just funny. It’d be fun to get to work with him again, so I could see that for sure,” Busby said.

There’s no confirmation for WHEN HOPE CALLS Season 3, but Season 2’s cliffhanger sets up a lot of possibilities.

On Instagram after the finale, many fans let GAF know they loved the series and want another season.

“I loved the finale! I loved the whole season!! I wish we could get a Christmas special again this year, a season 3 in 2026, and hopefully many more seasons and specials to come!!” said one fan whose username is “More like a hopeful romantic.”

Another said, “It was a great season, but can you do more than 6 episodes it wasn’t enough.”

“I love this series, and the cast is awesome! Please give us a S3. Those cliffhangers were really good, and I’d love to see them play out! 🙌🙌🙌❤️” one fan said.

Hopefully, GAF is listening to its viewers and putting out another season soon.
