Clint Eastwood Filming New Project in Georgia Despite Hollywood’s Backlash Over Heartbeat Bill

By Tess Farrand, Staff Writer

Acclaimed actor/director Clint Eastwood isn’t done working Hollywood even at the age of 89 years old. Eastwood’s latest movie is currently filming in Georgia, despite Hollywood’s backlash and boycott over the recent Heartbeat bill.

Titled, THE BALLAD OF RICHARD JEWELL, Eastwood serves as the director for the biopic that follows the true story of events that happened in the 1990s. IMDb gives a glimpse into the movie’s storyline, “American security guard, Richard Jewell, heroically saves thousands of lives from an exploding bomb at the 1996 Olympics, but is unjustly vilified by journalists and the press who falsely report that he was a terrorist.” Sam Rockwell (THE BEST OF ENEMIES), Olivia Wilde, Jon Ham (MAD MEN) and Kathy Bates (TITANIC) make up the cast of the movie alongside Paul Walter (I, TONYA) who plays the title role.

Eastwood isn’t participating in the abortion boycott like other Hollywood studios and filmmakers. Although one could argue Eastwood is filming in Georgia to be accurate to historical events, it’d be easy to film the movie in another city, state or even country.
