Rival College Football Players Pray as On-Field Brawl Breaks Out

On Saturday afternoon, Michigan beat Ohio State in one of the most intense rivalries in all of college football.
After Michigan won, the team decided to plant their flag in the middle of Ohio State’s field, which caused a chaotic brawl between the two teams that ended with several athletes being pepper sprayed by local authorities.
But while the brawl raged, three players decided to join hands in prayer.
A video shared by CBS Sports’ Brandon Marcello, “shows two members of the Ohio State Buckeyes and one player for the Michigan Wolverines huddled in prayer as the unrest unfolded around them. A photo shared by Rice shows a much larger group of players from Ohio State gathered in prayer amid the tense situation,” the Christian Post reported.
One of those players who prayed was Gee Scott’s son, Gee Scott Jr.

“If your kid is down there, the first thing you’re doing is you’re looking for your child,” Scott said of the incident on “The Gee and Ursula Show.” “I don’t see him. I can’t find him. Then, his girlfriend says, ‘Oh, I think he’s over off on the side praying.’ I’m like, ‘Huh?’ I didn’t understand that. I didn’t see what he was doing. Now, it’s all over social media, showing my son, two of his teammates and one of the Michigan players kneeling off to the side praying.”
“I never saw him praying. So after it’s all cleared up, we parents get to come down onto the field and wait outside for our players to come out,” he added. “When Baby Gee comes out, he has tears in his eyes. He normally doesn’t cry when it comes to wins or losses, so I thought that was strange and I hugged him. He says, ‘I’m good,’ and we get on the bus. Baby Gee is standing there with running back TreVeyon Henderson, who was also in that video. Henderson was sitting there, and I was like, ‘Man, you’re in good spirits.’ He said, ‘Hey man, it’s bigger than the game,’ so he’s making me feel better because I’m feeling somber. He and my son are hugging and talking about scripture.”

Scott Jr. admitted on his dad’s show that a few years ago, he probably would’ve gotten involved in the fight.
But “I’ve received this revelation of who my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is, and he has given me a new heart and different desires,” Scott Jr. explained. “I think that people who take the stand to turn the other cheek and handle things this way are sincerely tougher than those who lash out.”
