Buckeyes RB Says This About Gospel’s Power to Transform
By Movieguide® Contributor
Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson joined Sports Spectrum’s podcast to discuss how his life changed after he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.
“Ever since I gave my life to Him, man, He’s changed my life, you know, his blood, you know, the power in His blood that washed away all my sins and all the shame and guilt, you know, that I’ve been feeling over the years,” Henderson began.
“And man, He filled me with his perfect love, and He’s just been changing my life, man, turning me away from the sin and, you know, towards His righteousness and, you know, helping me each and every day to take up my cross and submit to Him and submit to His will,” he added. “So it’s a blessing to just have the Lord in my life. It’s been amazing.”

Henderson was among some of the players who showed up to training camp wearing “Jesus Won” shirts earlier this summer.
He posted a link to purchase the shirt on Instagram so his fans could proclaim their faith and explained what the phrase means to him.
“Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood to pay the price for our sins so our sins can be forgiven and we can be made right with God, and three days later he rose, overcoming the power of sin that leads to eternal death, so we can receive eternal life and enter the Kingdom of Heaven,” Henderson wrote.
He also included the Bible verse John 16:33, which says, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Ohio State expects that Henderson will be “one of the top running backs in college football in 2024.”
“He has 2,745 career rushing yards and 37 total touchdowns and will partner with junior Quinshon Judkins (2,725 career rushing yards and 34 touchdowns) to form a potentially devastating thump and run combo out of the backfield,” the team reported.
Movieguide® reported on the faith that is spreading across the Buckeyes football team:
Several Ohio State football players arrived at fall camp giving glory to God.
Team members sported shirts with faith-based slogans including “Follow Jesus,” “Jesus Won,” “Jesus Saves,” “God Got Me” and “Just Here To Give God Glory” as they moved in for training.
Fans and rivals alike celebrated the players’ open declarations of their faith in God.
“THE JESUS SHIRTS ARE EVERYTHING!! I LOVE OHIO STATE,” one person wrote.
Another said, “This is why I love this team more than just a game!!! *Jesus is king*”
Michigan fans, Ohio State’s rival, commented on the post saying, “Michigan fan will always support Jesus. God is bigger than rivalries ??”
Another Michigan fan commented, “Michigan fan… so hard to root against these guys seeing them with the Jesus Won shirts on.”
