Disney has officially set 2028 release dates for LILO & STITCH 2 and INCREDIBLES 3.
LILO & STITCH 2 will come out May 26, 2028, followed by INCREDIBLES 3 on June 16, 2028, Variety reported this week.
ELEMENTAL’s director, Peter Sohn will direct the new INCREDIBLES movie. Chris Sanders, who voices Stitch and co-wrote and directed the original animated movie, will write the live-action sequel and lend his voice again.
The first INCREDIBLES movie made $630 million at the worldwide box office, while the second scored with $1.24 billion worldwide. Plot details for the third movie have not yet been revealed.

Part of Movieguide®’s +1 review for INCREDIBLES 2 reads, “INCREDIBLES 2 is a fun, exciting, family-friendly superhero movie. INCREDIBLES 2 has a strong moral worldview about doing the right thing. The movie also stresses family learning to work together, no matter what the circumstances.”
“Some situations seem a bit mature, though,” the review continues. “For example, Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible tackle serious questions about parenthood and raising children. Also, the main villain may be scary for younger children, and there’s light but brief foul language. That said, INCREDIBLES 2 has lots of wit, humor, adventure, and heart.”
LILO & STICH, the live-action version, made just over $1 billion worldwide last year. Movieguide® gave it a +1 rating and nominated it for a Teddy Bear Award®.
Part of the review reads, “The live action LILO & STITCH is lots of fun, with touching moments of rescue and redemption…The live action LILO & STITCH has lots of comical action violence, however, and very brief light foul language. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children.”
Disney and Pixar animators have a lot of work cut out for them for the next few years.
Pixar chief creative officer Pete Docter also announced MONSTERS, INC. 3 is in early development, as is COCO 2 and some originals: an unnamed musical directed by TURNING RED’s Domee Shi, GATTO and ONO GHOST MARKET, Cartoon Brew reported.
The Hollywood Reporter said ONO GHOST MARKET is inspired by “Asian myths about supernatural bazaars where the living and dead interact. COCO 2 is expected to release sometime in 2029.
Disney’s most recent success is HOPPERS, which came out on March 6. It’s made $95 million domestic and $78 million international, per Box Office Mojo.
HOPPERS has been No. 1 in the box office ahead of Colleen Hoover’s REMINDERS OF HIM and other movies such as UNDERTONE, SCREAM 7 and THE BRIDE! Out of those, HOPPERS is the only family movie, so it’s a no brainer as to why it’s at the top of the chart — people want wholesome movies they can take their kids or parents to see.
