Nicole Kidman says that going to church prepares her for big appearances such as the Oscars.
“This is crazy, but I will go to church in the morning,” she told Variety of how attending church grounds her. “We’ll be squeezing it in…It just centers me. It’s what I do on a Sunday.”
Kidman posted a photo of herself in a beautiful dress ahead of the Academy Awards, which took place on March 15.
“Nicole Kidman never goes wrong on the red carpet! Another stunning look!!” one fan commented. Another added, “simply the best 👑”
It’s not surprising that Kidman would attend church before major events.
“Studies from Harvard and Pew Research Center show that those who attend church regularly report better mental health, greater life satisfaction, and a deeper sense of purpose,” Caeli posted on Instagram.

Pew Research, in its study titled “Religion’s Relationship to Happiness, Civic Engagement and Health Around the World,” explained, “People who are active in religious congregations tend to be happier and more civically engaged than either religiously unaffiliated adults or inactive members of religious groups.”
The study also found that overall, being “actively religious” improves health.
“Actively religious Americans are more likely than the unaffiliated to report very good health even after advanced statistical analysis controlling for age, education and other demographic factors,” Pew said. “This positive relationship between religious participation and self-rated health in the U.S. is often – but not always – found in other nationally representative survey datasets.”
Kidman spoke about her faith in 2019, saying prayer and church have played important roles in her life.
“That’s how we are raising our children,” she said, per Relevant Magazine. “Keith has his own beliefs, but he comes, too. I had a very Catholic grandmother, and I was raised praying, so that had a massive impact.”
“I wouldn’t say it’s absolutism, there’s constant questioning,” the actress explained. “For me, it’s very important that I don’t have judgment.”
Kidman isn’t the only celebrity connecting with her faith. USA Today shared that many celebrities including Canadian musician Grimes, political commentor Chris Cillizza and podcaster Joe Rogan have spoken about their desire to seek God and faith.
Marvel star Chris Pratt is possibly the most vocal celeb to share his faith.
“I’m trying to be a light like Matthew 5:14 – ‘I am a light in this world, and you can’t hide,” the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY actor said recently.
“I love the idea that this whole thing was orchestrated so that I could help bring God into people’s lives,” he said of his platform. “I think that would be the greatest outcome – even if I never worked again, that I was known for. That would make me feel good. I feel really good about that.”
We love seeing stars prioritize their faith.
