In the Hallmark+ prequel series HOPE VALLEY: 1874, viewers meet Hope Valley’s beginnings as ranchers and gold-rush prospectors fight over land — and newcomer Rebecca Clarke must decide whether life on the frontier suits her and her daughter.

Rebecca Clarke and her daughter Sarah travel hundreds of miles to reach the frontier, where they plan to operate a boardinghouse Rebecca purchased from a newspaper ad. The pair intend to settle out west, but they feel uneasy as the land’s ranchers and the gold-seekers, clash, each determined to strike it rich.

After their wagon loses a wheel, Rebecca and Sarah encounter Tom Moore, who offers them a place on his ranch while they repair their wagon. Rebecca and Tom grow close, but when Tom reveals that Rebecca’s boardinghouse plans might fail, they clash.

Rebecca must choose whether life in Hope Valley truly benefits her daughter — or whether they should continue fleeing their mysterious past.
