Danny Gokey Reminds Us Why We Should Praise God for Life’s Blessings

Danny Gokey reminded his followers that all good things come from God, and we should praise Him for even the small everyday miracles that make our lives enjoyable.
“The Bible says in Acts 17:28a, ‘In Him we live, we move, and we have our being.’ The fact that your heart beats today is because of the Father. That your lungs breathe oxygen is because of the Father. That your eyes see the beautiful creation — the skies, the oceans, the palm trees, the mountains — is because of the Father. The smells of delicious food that you smell today or perfumes and fragrances is because of the Father. The music that you’re able to hear today with your ears is because of the Father. Did you get my point?” Gokey said.
“We should serve the Lord because it is Him who gives us the ability to enjoy life and life to the fullest,” he continued. “You know, a lot of times we take it for granted and we think that God owes us this life and that we should have all of those abilities but He doesn’t have to do anything; it is by His grace.
“I want to encourage you today: thank God for the little things; don’t be distracted by the other things that you don’t have,” Gokey continued. “Thank Him for the things you do have because it is for Him, by Him and through Him, and He receives all the glory.”
In our self-centered, instant-gratification culture, reminders like this are important to keep God at the center of our lives. With so much available to us at all times, it is difficult not to become people who feel entitled to the things that are given to us as gifts by God.
In the same way that God breathed life into Adam, He still sustains every one of us today and is the reason for not only our health but for our lives. Gokey reminds us of that and encourages us to focus on this and praise the Lord for His grace and mercy, rather than getting caught up in the entitled culture we live in today.
The singer is getting ready to tour with Tauren Wells and Ryan Ellis for “The Takeback Tour,” starting this fall.
“We’re making 12 stops all across the country,” Gokey said. “We want you guys to join us. It’s gonna be a night of worship, it’s gonna be a night of expectancy, dancing.”
“We’re going to get the promises of God back in our lives,” Wells added.

Christian artist Danny Gokey is warning people not to “drift” from their faith and to “hang on to God’s word” through difficult times.
Gokey rose to fame after competing on AMERICAN IDOL and has racked up over a million monthly listeners on Spotify.
In a series of videos he posted to social media, Gokey shared that he thinks the “most dangerous thing” Christians face today is “the drift.”
“It’s very subtle, and sometimes you don’t even catch it,” he said. “Therefore we should be more attentive to what we have heard, lest we drift away.”
He continued, “For if the word spoken by angels was true, and every sin and disobedience received a just recompense, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation, which was first declared by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him? God also bore them witness with signs and wonders and diverse miracles and with gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His own will.”
