Anne Wilson starts a new musical chapter with her latest single, “God Story.”
“‘God Story’ is so personal to me because it’s about those moments in life where you look back and think, ‘Only God could’ve brought me through that,’” Wilson said in a statement. “We all have a God story — times when He shows up in ways we never expected. My hope is that this song helps people see that even in the middle of the pain or the waiting, God is still writing something beautiful.”
In the song’s lyrics, Wilson shares, “My life is God story, Gotta tell the world what He’s done for me, Miracles on miracles that only He could do, I’m proof that we’re all only, One prayer away from a testimony. Therе is only One getting all the glory. My wholе life is a — God story.”
The worship artist has been posting about “God Story” on Instagram, writing, “If you’ve lived through something that only He could’ve carried you through, this one’s for you.”
In another post, she shared, “I wrote ‘God Story’ while reflecting on the miracle of my own journey — and how only God could have carried me through. We’ve all had those moments. He’s so faithful to lead us every step of the way.”

Wilson recently discussed the growing mainstream popularity of worship music on the “Big D and Bubba Radio Show.”
“I think on the statistics side of things, it’s really, really cool,” she said. “My pastor shared that church attendance in the last year has gone up 65% and it’s all Gen Z — my generation — and there’s a huge, country-wide thing of just people needing God.”
Wilson gave a shout out to country artist Jelly Roll, who recently collaborated with worship artist Brandon Lake on “Hard Fought Hallelujah.”
“I look at artists like Jelly Roll and what he’s doing, and it’s so powerful because being willing to share your faith like that — he doesn’t realize how many people that’s impacting,” she explained. “So it’s been really cool to be from a Christian side coming to the country side, and feeling like now we’re just all one big family, kind of? Like, we’re all coming together and doing music together, and yeah, I think a lot of people’s lives are changing through it, and it’s a great time to be a part of.”
Wilson’s latest single is a reminder that we all have a “God story” — and that His plan will see us through even the toughest of times.
