
Disney+ Announces New Wave of Movies and Series Coming to Streaming

Disney recently announced a wave of new series and movies coming to their streaming platform, Disney+, in 2022.
Disney+, which launched two years ago in Nov. 2019, has quickly become one of the largest streaming platforms in the game, battling with Netflix for the top spot.
Leading the way for Disney’s catalog of content is its focus on new and classic family-friendly movies and episodic series.
Disney announced some of its upcoming releases via Twitter.
“It wouldn’t be #DisneyPlusDay without a look at the stories to come. Follow along this thread for exciting #DisneyPlus announcements, first looks, and more!” Disney announced.
Part of the lineup included new adaptations or continuations of positive, family-friendly titles like CARS ON THE ROAD, DISENCHANTED, CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, ZOOTOPIA+, BAYMAX!, SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES, CHIP N DALE, AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL, and DIARY OF A WIMPY KID.

BAYMAX! and CARS ON THE ROAD are animated series based on the beloved Disney movies BIG HERO 6 and CARS, respectively, both of which were nominated for Movieguide® Awards.
ZOOTOPIA+ is a short-form series based on the 2016 movie ZOOTOPIA.
Movie adaptations include a new CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN in March 2022 and an animated DIARY OF A WIMPY KID set to release on Dec. 3.
