Erin and Ben Napier Give Fans A Look At Newly Renovated Home

By Movieguide® Contributor

Erin and Ben Napier are taking fans inside their “dream house,” showing off the renovations that made it perfect for their family of four.

The couple purchased the house when Erin was pregnant with their second daughter Mae.

“It’s unbelievably well built,” Ben said of the house. “Supposedly, all the wood in the whole house—the floors, the trim, the beams—was cut and milled on the property. And that’s pretty cool for me as a woodworker.

“One reason we had to get this house was its very British look,” Erin added. “It feels as though you’ve crossed the ocean and you’re not in Mississippi anymore. It’s like a vacation for us. All the cozy rooms with dark wood make it seem as if you’re sitting beside a fire—that is the dream for me. I love this style so, so much.”

The 1930s Tudor home was perfect for their growing family, but the interior needed a little work, including a more functional kitchen.

The new kitchen is open and sunny, with lots of windows and personal touches.

“This is the only room we use constantly,” Erin said of the room. “It’s our favorite place. Everything happens here.”

The rest of the house is full of little personal details, from family photos to a framed Duke University jersey (Ben’s father attended the school).

“When you walk in the back door of my mama’s house, it’s family history,” Erin said, referring to her mom’s hallway full of family pictures. She did the same in the couple’s new home. “I just had to do this because it’s my favorite thing about my parents’ house—and it always has been.”

A special episode of HOME TOWN will air in December, showing off behind-the-scenes looks at the renovation process.

This isn’t the only project the couple have been working on. Movieguide® previously reported:

Ben and Erin Napier, stars of the HOME TOWN renovation series on HGTV, recently worked with the Salvation Army to upgrade a room at the shelter in their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi.

“It’s just wonderful to celebrate second chances,” Erin told WDAM7. “That’s what we do with old houses, and that’s what the Salvation Army does; it gives people a second chance, and we’re happy to help.

“Walking through the shelter and seeing where families come and spend time, it’s hard to do that and not think about our families and our daughters. And so, we were excited to partner with them this year on this,” Ben added.

The renovation duo teamed up with workers from the Salvation Army to repaint the room, add new couches and give away new toys for the family living in the shelter.

“This is truly, truly a blessing from them,” Salvation Army Capt. Keisha McMullin said. “We know it will be a blessing for the residents that we serve here in our shelter.”

“They accomplished a lot in such a short, short time, and we’re very grateful,” added Salvation Army Capt. Jason McMullin.
