Erin Krakow Finally Reunites with WHEN CALLS THE HEART Costar

WHEN CALLS THE HEART fans got a special treat this holiday season when Erin Krakow shared a screen with Daniel Lissing for the first time since his departure from the series in Season 5.
“We had talked about it years ago, trying to find a project or create an opportunity that would bring us together again,” Krakow told Swooon. “I think that I just became very focused on WHEN CALLS THE HEART, and Dan has other projects that he’s been working on, so it kind of took a backseat for a while, and then this was just a really fun surprise when the opportunity to reunite came about.”
Fans of Krakow and Lissing will be delighted with their new movie — SANTA TELL ME — as they follow a similar path to love as in WHEN CALLS THE HEART. The movie, however, places the actors in a new landscape; their characters meet during modern times rather than during the early 1900s.
“[Our roles in this movie aren’t] entirely dissimilar from the oil and water dynamic that our WHEN CALLS THE HEART characters, Jack and Elizabeth, had with each other in the beginning. It was a lot like riding a bike,” Krakow said. “You remember how to do it. Obviously, there were things about our individual processes that have changed over the years, but it was really lovely to work together again and kind of easy to just fall into our old rhythm of working together.”
Krakow and Lissing last shared a screen during Season 5 of WHEN CALLS THE HEART when Lissing’s character was killed off. Lissing decided to exit the series due to outside circumstances.

SANTA TELL ME follows Krakow’s character, Olivia, whose love life opens up after finding an old letter from Santa that promises her that she’ll find her soulmate by Christmas Eve and gives her his name — Nick. Shortly after, Olivia meets three Nicks and has to navigate the letter’s promise along with her feelings for her coworker, Chris.
“Her journey to love hasn’t really been smooth,” Krakow said about Olivia. “She’s put a lot into her work life, which, luckily, she’s very passionate about. She’s just sort of on the precipice of a promotion, finally getting all she wants in her work world when, by some magical interference from Santa, she learns of her soulmate and has to go on this journey to figure out who he really is, while balancing the stress of this new element of her job.”
SANTA TELL ME debuted on Hallmark on Nov. 9.
