Football Legend Deion Sanders Declares Jesus Will ‘Satisfy Your Heart’

Deion Sanders, former NFL cornerback turned head coach for the University of Colorado, took a stand for his faith in a recent Instagram post.
“JESUS!” Sanders captioned the photos.
“Sex won’t satisfy you. Fame won’t satisfy you. Drugs won’t satisfy you. Money won’t satisfy you. Alcohol won’t satisfy you. Success won’t satisfy you. Life is empty without Jesus. He is the only one who can satisfy your heart. Amen,” the first photo declared.
The second photo stated, “Pray until you see a breakthrough. Pray until the chains fall off. Pray until you hear God’s voice.”
Sanders, nicknamed “Prime Time” during his NFL career, frequently discusses his faith on social media.
“Lord I thank u for yesterday because if it weren’t for yesterday, I wouldn’t be prepared for today. I’m appreciative for the ups, downs, comings, goings, the light, the darkness, the good and the bad. I thank u for it all!” he shared with his 3.4 million Instagram followers in another post.
“Lord I thank u for everyday that ends with a “Y” #CoachPrime!” the caption read.
Sanders joined the University of Colorado as head coach in December 2022.
In a press conference following the announcement, he stated, “Don’t you ever tell me where God ain’t. Don’t you ever tell me His limits. Don’t you ever tell me what you’re up against and what you can’t do.”
He continued, “Out of all the persons in the world, God chose me. For that, I thank Him. For that, I love Him. For that, I magnify Him. For that, I glorify Him. For that, I praise Him. For that, I owe Him. Each and every day, I’m trying to please Him.”
“There were a number of highly-qualified and impressive candidates interested in becoming the next head football coach at Colorado, but none of them had the pedigree, the knowledge and the ability to connect with student-athletes like Deion Sanders,” Colorado athletic director Rick George stated in a press release.
“Not only will Coach Prime energize our fanbase, I’m confident that he will lead our program back to national prominence while leading a team of high quality and high character,” he concluded.
CNN reported on Sanders’ successful career in football and baseball:
Sanders was drafted as a first-rounder in 1989 by the Atlanta Falcons out of Florida State and played in the league for 14 seasons with several franchises. He won two Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
Sanders also played for five different Major League Baseball teams in 11 years. He is the first athlete to have competed in a Super Bowl and a World Series.

Sanders revealed that in 2021, he had blood clots that threatened his life. However, after eight surgeries and the amputation of two toes on his left foot, Sanders made a recovery.
“It was a blessing because I could have lost my life very easily. … It was there. It was a thought process of losing my leg from the knee down,” Sanders told Chris Neely of “Thee Pregame Show.” “It was almost there. So when I look up and say ‘Thank you, Jesus,’ it’s because I know the quiet cries at night that were in that hospital.
“I got to really see God’s face and the different personalities of God, I feel,” he added.
Sanders spent weeks in the hospital amid the health scare but said prayer got him through the long days in bed.
“I’m pretty sure that some of those nurses thought I was crazy,” Sanders said, referencing his vocal prayer to “the Lord all night.”
