Former REAL HOUSEWIVES Star: ‘God’s Word Has Changed My Life’

Former REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY star Lydia McLaughlin shared her faith in a new book, “Joyfull: 365 Daily Devotions for Women.”
“My time in the spotlight or on HOUSEWIVES, I was known for being a happy housewife … being someone [who has] a lot of joy,” she shared. “I just believe in the joy that comes from the Lord.”
McLaughlin explained “Paul wrote, ‘I have learned to be content.’ Joy is something that we can learn to do even if it’s not something that comes natural to us.”
She spoke further about her new book on Instagram, writing, “Gods Word has changed my life. I believe in the power of the Bible, the Holy Spirit, and prayer…I would love you to invest in your faith. Step into the freedom God offers you, not just for eternal life, but your life, today.”
Since leaving the reality show, McLaughlin has been sharing her faith. Speaking about another one of her books, “Beyond Orange County: A Housewives Guide to Faith & Happiness,” she said. “I knew how much of a difference I could make to other people…and so I wanted to tell people about my faith and how it’s shaped me into who I am and how important that is. And so it was just a natural overflow of my heart.”
McLaughlin was raised in a “spiritual” home, but did not encounter Christianity until she was older.
“I just started seeking God,” she explained. “I never was introduced to Jesus the way that these people were talking about Jesus. And so I continued to seek and search, and God just really broke open my heart.”
She started regularly attending church and youth ministry events, becoming a Christian her freshman year of high school.
“[God] has transformed my life,” McLaughlin said. “His word has transformed my life.”
