While speaking at an event at Grand Canyon University (GCU), Forrest Frank shared a vulnerable part of his testimony, explaining how the Lord saved him from suicidal thoughts that were constantly present in his life.
“There were points in my life where I felt suicidal, and I wanted to end my life,” the viral Christian singer told a crowd of 7,000 GCU students. “And the beauty of that is I died with Christ. My flesh is gone, and forever, I get to live in eternity with Him.”

Frank went on to explain how he came to know the Lord during an event like the one at GCU he was helping host. It occured during his sophomore year of college, changing his life forever.
“I just fell to my knees and surrendered to Him,” he said. “From that day, everything changed. When I fully surrendered to Jesus, everything changed from that point.”
While Frank no longer suffers with suicidal thoughts since becoming a Christian, he still relies on the Lord to keep him steady at times when his mental health is poor. A lot of these difficulties have come about because of his success as he questions why all of this goodness has come his way.
“Do we keep going? Do I put the pedal on the gas and we 100x what God’s doing?” Frank recalled when discussing the first time he was swarmed by fans in public. “And I’m so honored that the kids are loving, loving it. That’s like the highest honor to me. But I don’t want my dream to affect someone else when it’s not their dream. You know, that’s not my son’s dream to have his dad always be shared. And that’s not my wife’s dream.”
The “Lemonade” singer, however, continues to cast his cares onto the Lord and trust Him with his life and his future, rather than turn from the path the Lord has set out for him due to fear.
“The Bible says to ‘cast your anxieties on the Lord and through prayer and thanksgiving, and peace which surpasses all knowledge will guard our hearts,’” he said. “I got to witness that firsthand as I went through the hardest day of my life. I just released that baggage to Jesus, and now I’m having a good day. He doesn’t promise us a good day, but He promises us peace when we surrender to Him.”
It is amazing to see Frank continue to be vulnerable and open up about his past struggles to inspire his fans and encourage them that their lives can completely change when they surrender to the Lord.
