Broadway Star Says ‘Everything Falls Into Place’ If You Delight in God

Sadie Robertson Huff and longtime friends Ginna Claire Mason and Donna Stuart recently spoke about the role faith has when it comes to dreaming big.
“I really believe that dreams — that if you’re chasing after the Lord — He gives you the desires of your heart,” Stuart said during an episode of “WHOA That’s Good” podcast.
She recently got to write a song for a Hallmark Christmas movie that Mason starred in, something that Stuart had always dreamed of doing. The song is titled “Who Knew It’d Be You This Christmas.”
The movie, CAROL FOR TWO, follows Violette (Mason) who has moved to New York to make it big on Broadway — a story Broadway star Mason can relate to.
“I myself am a small-town girl who moved to New York to chase a big dream,” she told Swooon, adding that it “definitely hits the closest to home for me, and it’s definitely because of the Broadway storyline…to incorporate [my] background into this moment in time, this Christmas movie you never knew you needed if you love Broadway, is really special.”
Speaking about her dream of writing a song for a movie, Stuart explained, “The reason I have this burning desire in my heart to write songs for movies is because when you scratch the surface of me, if it’s not, like, a blatant Christian song, you’re going to find Jesus. And so, I want that. I want people to go, ‘That’s a super fun Christmas song! Wow, she loves God! I’ve been thinking about God lately,’ and then off you go, and for all I know, maybe I’ll be part of getting to help save thousands of people.”
Mason added her own take on God’s influence on our dreams, saying, “I think it’s easy for [this] verse to get misinterpreted, which is ‘Delight in the Lord and He’ll give you the desires of your heart,’ and it’s not that God’s a genie…if you’re delighting in Him, ultimately, your desire becomes for Him and I think everything else just falls into place.”
Both Stuart and Mason emphasized the importance of using their platforms to share their faith with the world.
“If we’re not living for Jesus, what are we doing?” Stuart asked. “If we’re not using the gifts that God’s given us to shine light back on Him and tell the world about Him, what are we doing?”

Huff agreed, saying, “It’s like there’s something He’s put in you that is showing other people a glimpse of Him and you get to love other people through such a powerful way.”
In an Instagram video, Stuart spoke further about what it meant to her to have her song in A CAROL FOR TWO.
“Getting to know others on Broadway and in Pro Sports and Hollywood has put a deep compassion in my heart for the entertainment industry,” she shared. “My prayer is to walk in Love and Wisdom with integrity as I love the Jesus following entertainers by strengthening their hands in the Lord, and also being someone who works excellently at my craft and loves all who I meet. That perhaps they will consider the Source of all of creation’s creativity to be True Love and worth a lifetime follow.”
