GOD. FAMILY. FOOTBALL. follows pastor, chancellor and head football coach Denny Duron as he tackles faith and sports in a way that leaves a lasting impact.

“Evangel Christian Academy is a school unlike any other. With an emphasis on love, inclusion and the power of a transformative God, Famed Head Coach, and Pastor, Denny Duron leads the talented Evangel Christian Academy Eagles on the football field in their quest for a 15th State Championship, and off the field he mentors these kids to take on the gamut of life’s challenges, from ill family members to peer pressures to struggles at home to dating for the first time,” Fox Nation wrote as the series description.

Though the series initially premiered on Amazon, Fox Nation picked it up for additional seasons.

Fox Nation president Lauren Petterson said, “With football season in full swing, we are thrilled to become the new home of this compelling and inspiring show. It’s an honor to be able to share their story of resilience and character with our viewers and this is the perfect program to launch our FOX Faith vertical on FOX Nation.”

Per Variety:

Fox Nation aims to use the series to launch a new “Fox Faith” vertical showcasing religious content, says Lauren Petterson, president of the streaming service, in a statement. A documentary hosted, narrated and executive produced by famed director Martin Scorsese –“Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints” — will debut on Sunday, November 17. The initiative will run through the holiday season with the launch of “Jesus Crown of Thorns,” a docudrama produced in partnership with Nutopia, which will offer a new telling of the life of Jesus.

For Coach Duron, the series isn’t about reaching fame for himself.

“Well I think the message that we’re telling these young people everyday is, ‘God will come into your world,'” Duron said. There are so many that feel like God is compartmentalized. He belongs in the sanctuary on Sunday morning and never leaves there, but we teach these kids the truth and that is we have a wonderful God who is active in every area and facet of our lives and He will come into your world.

“So everyday we start by saying–just before practice, we’re all in our gear and we’re about to get after it–’God bless our worship, in Jesus name.’ And we believe that everything that we do that honors Him becomes an act of worship,” he added.

“I bought each one of them a leather-bound Bible with their name on it,” Duron says of his players. “With wide margins so they can take notes. It has changed them from the inside out. Many of them had never read the Bible. Lives and attitudes have changed.

“I do football so I can do this.”
