Tilly Ramsay, daughter of famed chef Gordon Ramsay, who’s known for his passionate and often harsh persona in the kitchen, follows in her dad’s footsteps in a much sweeter way.

In her new Prime Video show DISH IT OUT, the 23-year-old culinary school grad takes lessons from her dad and explores cooking on her own.

“Get ready to DISH IT OUT with Tilly Ramsay, a passionate foodie and aspiring chef stepping out of her famous father’s shadow and into her own culinary adventures!” Prime Video’s synopsis reads. “Tilly takes us on a journey celebrating online trends and family favorite recipes — alongside some familiar faces and some surprise visitors who join her in the kitchen.”

“With something like cooking, you’re never done learning, as my dad says. There are so many cuisines and techniques, and it’s also about finding your own style within that,” Tilly said.

Gordon couldn’t be prouder.

“Tilly! Yeah, a powerhouse. Finally, out of six kids, we have one that’s desperate to follow my footsteps,” he joked in an interview with TV Insider. “I think it’s important she find her own way first. She’s just come back from culinary school in Ireland, studying like mad. But it is a bit of a kick in the *** when she doesn’t want to be trained by me, though.”

But Tilly credits her upbringing for most of her cooking knowledge and shared that she didn’t have to “unlearn” anything her dad taught her.

“Growing up around food has been the best thing in terms of just constantly learning. I don’t feel like I had to unlearn anything, [but] there were a few things that I’ve learned that can’t really be short-cut,” she explained. “Spending the time to prep is really important.”

She did share, however, that she learned some techniques that were not necessarily Gordon-Ramsey approved.

“I think everyone has their own style,” she said. “I went home just before I had my six-week exams — they were technique exams — and I was showing my dad the technique. He was like, ‘No, no, no, that’s all wrong!’ And I was like, ‘No, no, no, there’s no wrong. There’re just different ways.’ And I think that comes through on the show as well.”

Gordon celebrated Tilly’s achievement on Instagram.

“She’s all grown up and has her own show. So proud of you @tillyramsay and your new @primevideo show #DishItOut (that’s streaming today!) And thx for squeezing in the old man as a guest kid…he still can show you a few tricks! Can’t wait to watch all the rest and so proud,” he said in the caption.

People in the comment section showed support for the culinary family. “Beautiful dad & daughter! Congrats!” one user said. Another person added, “So amazing to see her with her own show!! You raised her right, so I know it’s going to be good!”

DISH IT OUT is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
