Ready for HEARTLAND Season 18? Star Says ‘Anything Is Possible’
By Movieguide® Contributor
HEARTLAND’s Amber Marshall promises “new and exciting things” in the show’s upcoming eighteenth season.
“Anything is possible,” she said in an interview with Keep Heartland Strong. “I think as far as characters coming back, there has to be a believable story for that kind of thing. I think for my character, I would like to see her really kind of getting her confidence down and knowing what she wants.”
Marshall explained, “Amy’s been a little bit indecisive…I think if she can be a little more directionalized in her thinking and what she wants, that could be good. There’s lots of new and exciting things on the horizon.”
She also responded to fans’ fears that Caleb might not be coming back to HEARTLAND.
“Why wouldn’t he?” Marshall asked. “There’s definitely no characters that can’t come back.”
Marshall also commented on a potential end for HEARTLAND, saying, “I see no end. Like, I wouldn’t want to create an end to the show, so I’m not going to leave the show. As long as people keep enjoying it, then I get to keep doing what I love.”
MSN reported that, while Marshall announced in a YouTube video that Season 18 would premiere in fall 2024, “the fall release window only pertains to its debut in Canada, and season 18 likely won’t arrive in the U.S. until 2025.”
Marshall previously posted about working on Season 18 of HEARTLAND on Instagram.
“As we wrap up HEARTLAND’s Season 18 for the year, I think back to the incredible time we have all had together. I would say this year especially, was extra fun,” she wrote. “The group pictured here have all been a part of Heartland for 18 years! (There are others too, but just happened we were all standing together) I love and admire you all so much.”
The actress continued, “The friendships we’ve made and the memories we’ve shared make this so much more than a job. I hope you enjoy this new season airing in Canada in a month. I am already ready to dive in to more stories, so let’s all throw our positive vibes out for a spring renewal!”
Movieguide® previously reported on Marshall’s thoughts on HEARTLAND’s longevity:
HEARTLAND’s Amber Marshall says the show is “a breath of fresh air” for viewers looking for something different than the usual fare they see on TV.
“It’s amazing being with the project for so long and you kind of — not that my view of the project has changed at all, but I do believe it’s because of the wholesome values that HEARTLAND portrays, as well as, it’s kind of just a breath of fresh air,” Marshall said in an interview with Trailblazer Co.
She continued, “There’s a lot of scripted television shows out there that keep you on the edge of your seat, but sometimes in a way that gives you anxiety…the thing I love about HEARTLAND, and that so many people have shared with me over the years, is that it’s just comfortable…you don’t feel that anxiety.”
Marshall shared that many viewers continue to come back to HEARTLAND because “‘it makes me feel good, and it makes me feel inspired and positive and that I can really get through anything,’ and I think that’s really what the show is about.”
“I believe that watching HEARTLAND, seeing those connections…really helps ground you,” she said. “That’s something that you don’t feel a lot when you’re watching television.”
