THE CHOSEN’s Teddy Bear Award® winner Jonathan Roumie reflected on his journey on the show and thanked God for it.

“Eight years ago today, God changed the course of my life. The road ahead seemed impassible and impossible but He had other plans. And I couldn’t be more grateful…🥹” Roumie wrote on social media on Tuesday alongside a clip of himself finding out that he got the role in the series eight years ago.

He also shared a passage from Isaiah about God’s protection and faithfulness and a verse from Matthew about giving burdens over to God.

The actor continued, “In every opportunity He gives me, I seek only to point others back to Him. Today especially, given all He’s done in MY life, I invite you to surrender your own struggles to God and watch how He transforms them! ⚡️”

“Thank you for your prayers and support throughout this incredible journey. 🥰Please continue them as I begin the final chapter in the role that started this entire adventure of mine…that is, as Jesus in @thechosentvseries. God bless you,” he said.

Roumie’s experience playing Jesus in THE CHOSEN is recorded in the Prime Video docuseries JONATHAN AND JESUS.

In another post, he shared, “Words will never adequately describe the incredible honor it has been to portray our Lord in the @thechosentvseries, not only in those first four episodes — specifically because of what they meant to me at that moment in my life personally- but for all the subsequent moments, encounters, stories and spiritual lessons He would allow me to participate in and learn from all these years later.”

Roumie recalled being in debt and “barely keeping it together” before he got the role on THE CHOSEN. Through it all, he knew he could trust God.

He encouraged his followers, “He is always true to His Word!! Trust Him with your troubles.”

Roumie revealed this year that playing Jesus was the most difficult thing he’s ever had to do.

“It was a one-of-a-kind experience,” Roumie told Fox News Digital. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life — both professionally and personally as a human being.”

Roumie wanted to give an authentic representation of Jesus and asked God to let him feel a little of what Jesus did.

“I was willing to offer myself in that way, and he gave me some really challenging experiences on set, physically and emotionally,” he explained, adding that filming the crucifixion continues to affect him in ways he didn’t expect.

THE CHOSEN Season 6 debuts on Prime Video on Nov. 15.
