How Catherine Guidici Lowe Found Christ on THE BACHELOR

By Allyson Vannatta, Senior Writer

Catherine Guidici Lowe, who stole former bachelor Sean Lowe’s heart on season 17 of the popular dating show, credited the show for helping her find Christ. Guidici Lowe opened up about the experience in an Instagram post ahead of THE BACHELOR’s special spinoff.

THE BACHELOR wasn’t able to give fans a new season to watch this summer. Instead they put together a spinoff show called THE BACHELOR: THE GREATEST SEASONS – EVER!

The new show will feature host Chris Harrison as he takes a “Look back at some of the most dramatic moments ever from ‘The Bachelor’ franchise.”

The series kicked Monday night with outspoken Christian Sean Lowe’s season. Before it aired, his wife, Catherine, looked back on her journey on the show and what it brought her.

One of the things she highlighted in an Instagram post was the fact that she found Christ.

“I ended up getting to represent a mixed race community, I found Christ (I LOVE my testimony!) and marrying the most amazing man I’ve ever known. I’d say doing this show was one of the best things that ever happened to me.”

Tomorrow, our season of The Bachelor re-airs in a condensed three hour episode. When I was originally cast, I was very flattered but somewhat grounded by the fact that I would be one of the faces that represented people of color. I knew that one of the reasons I was probably chosen was because I was Filipino. I counted myself out to be his fiancée because of what I assumed Sean liked. I thought I was there just to check a box, but I ended up with so much more. I became present with the process and as he started noticing me for who I really was, I allowed this experience to open myself up to the possibility of being fully loved and appreciated for all that I was. I ended up getting to represent a mixed race community, I found Christ (I LOVE my testimony!) and marrying the most amazing man I’ve ever known. I’d say doing this show was one of the best things that ever happened to me. ❤️ (Don’t count yourself out. You are destined to do bigger things than just check a box.)

Sean’s heart for the Lord shined through on his season and might have even helped guide his wife to wanting to give her life to God.

After getting engaged on the show, Catherine made the decision to get baptized in the same church as Sean. Sean’s father, Jay, even baptized her.

According to the Christian Post, Jay said, “I remember the night she surrendered her life to the Lord. She called me and was giggling and excited. She was overjoyed. Becoming a Christian was a personal decision she made herself and had nothing to do with Sean or impressing the family.”

Sean shared a photo of his wife being baptized with the caption, “This brings my heart so much joy. Got to watch my dad baptize @catherinegiudici this morning.”
