How DUCK DYNASTY Reunited Star With Long-Lost Daughter

By Movieguide® Contributor

Phil Robertson explained how his success with DUCK DYNASTY allowed him to become acquainted with a long-lost daughter that he never knew he had.

“[It was] one of them drunken nights, you know, that’s how she was produced, some drunken night somewhere, and I have no idea where. But when we gave her DNA checks [my kids] said, ‘Dad, [we]’ll check it out, but I think she’s for real,” Robertson told Kirk Cameron.

“I said, ‘Tell her to come on down, fly her down here. So we provided the airplane ticket and flew her down, and in my first meeting, she walked over to me, and I looked her in the eyes, and I said, ‘Yes, I think you’re the one,’” he continued. “After 45 years, she shows up out of my past, and I gave her a house, and she lives next door to us. She’s a good, godly woman.”

Despite Robertson’s family being in shock about his long-lost daughter, they welcomed her with open arms and are so thankful to invite her into the family.

“We welcomed her with open arms and here we are,” Robertson said in 2021 after going public with the story. “You say, well, it was — her life was caused from a sinful act. That is correct. But we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.”

Robertson’s kids have also seen a change in him since his daughter entered his life. Becoming a father of a daughter caused him to have a different outlook on life as he learned to love her well and be a good father to her.

“She has fit right in with the family,” said Al Robertson. “She changed dad. You know, he had boys. So he was different with us than he is with her, so it’s been a really cool thing to watch.”

DUCK DYNASTY patriarch Phil Robertson recently learned he has a daughter, Phylliss, from an affair prior to giving his life to Jesus years ago. The Robertson family recently met Phylliss and welcomed her with open arms.

“It’s a pretty cool explanation of redemption, reconciliation, love,” said Phil. “As it turns out, 45 years, you have a daughter that you don’t know about, and she has a father she doesn’t know about. 45 years that doesn’t sound like very long but you say, that’s a while. So finally, after all those years, we come together.”

The eldest Robertson brothers, Alan and Jase, both received letters from Phylliss who believed Phil was her father. The two brought up the letter to their father, and he was ready to get a DNA test to confirm the speculation.

“DNA results are back, and…I have a sister,” said the second son of Phil and Kay Robertson, Jase, to his wife Missy.
