From repeating outfits to teaming up with former NFL star Vernon Davis, Mina Starsiak just spilled out she prepped for ROCK THE BLOCK Season 7.
She shared how she prepared to join ROCK THE BLOCK Season 7 and her thoughts when she learned her partner would be former NFL star Vernon Davis.
“I ordered 3 pairs of jeans to try out and wore them for 2 days straight each. Picked one with a little stretch, a snug waist so I wasn’t constantly yanking at them and holes in the knee so I didn’t get too hot,” Starsiak told fans when explaining how she chose her recurring outfit. “Then gotta have the flannel as a layer for chilly evenings/mornings but it’s thin enough to tie around the waist when I’m not wearing it vs a bulky sweatshirt.”
This season of ROCK THE BLOCK sees HGTV stars team up with celebrities who love design and home renovations.

Starsiak was thrilled when she first learned that Davis would be her partner. His time in the NFL would mean he’s a hard worker.
“Knowing that he was a football player, knowing his position and when he played in the league, I was like, no matter what, he’s going to be a good teammate,” she told PEOPLE in March. “You just aren’t the kind of person that thinks you can do it all by yourself if you’re successful in the NFL for that long the way he was. So I knew that was going to be great.”
While Starsiak does not have much experience in home renovation, she was a judge on ROCK THE BLOCk Season 6, so she knows what to focus on, though she admitted that that knowledge caused her to overthink some things.
“Every decision I make, I also reflect on if I was a judge, this is what I would say about this,” she explained. “Or the thing that goes wrong that I don’t have the budget or time to fix — if I was a judge, this is what I would say and this is why I would dock you and you wouldn’t win.”
Meanwhile, HGTV favorite Ty Pennington returned to host the show. This season’s episodes took contestants to Las Vegas, Nevada to renovate homes.
“ROCK THE BLOCK is back, and we’re going all in Vegas style with a bold new lineup of teams,” Pennington said. “The stakes are higher than ever, and these duos are betting on great design in hopes of hitting the renovation jackpot.”
ROCK THE BLOCK is always a hit with audiences, and Season 7 seems like it will continue this trend. The season’s two hour premiere released on Monday, April 13, and new episodes will come every Monday.
