Atlanta Falcons running back Nathan Carter and his wife, Madison, are expecting their first baby, and they couldn’t be more thankful.

“One of the things that the Lord has been teaching us in this season is that He is a faithful God,” he began his Instagram announcement.

“Madison and I had been trying to conceive for some time. Still, doctors and nurses informed her that, due to her medical condition, getting pregnant would be extremely challenging. For over a year, my wife has been enduring excruciating pain,” he continued. “We longed to become parents and raise children, but as time passed, it felt increasingly impossible.”

“After many long nights, hard conversations, tears, and prayers filled with confusion, we reached a point where we had to decide on surgery, but we didn’t know what to do,” Carter said. “We were hesitant, and we prayed and sought God for wisdom, but He seemed silent. One night we decided that we were going to pray one last time before we decided to get a procedure to better our chances of getting pregnant and to lessen Madison’s pain.”

“A couple of days later, Madison came to me and said she felt it was time to wait. We were still confused and anxious, but in the end we waited and trusted that the Lord would do only what He could do in what seemed like an impossible situation. Two weeks after that conversation, the Lord answered our prayer,” he added.

In the post, the couple included the video of them finding out the gender of the baby. As the color blue poured out from the spray can, Carter couldn’t contain his excitement.

He hopes their story encourages others to stay patient and persevere.

Carter also shared a message of hope as he and Madison endured patience and perseverance.

“I don’t know what you’re going through; I don’t know what you’ve been waiting for. I don’t know how long you’ve waited or how hard you’ve tried. Maybe you’re in an impossible situation and on the verge of quitting,” the running back wrote. “What I do know and can testify to is that the Lord is faithful. We’re reminded that God’s timing is perfect, and when we think all is lost and are tempted to give up and walk in a different direction, He is there, right on time.”

“In December, we welcome our baby boy into this world. He is a precious gift, created in the image of God, whom God is knitting in Madison’s womb. Our beautiful son will come to understand the profound truth of God’s amazing grace, which has blessed us with the incredible gift of him,” he added.

Carter concluded the post with Psalm 89:1, which reads, “I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.”

The Carters are sure to be wonderful parents to their baby boy.
