How Sadie Robertson Huff Experiences God’s Presence Every Day

By Movieguide® Contributor

Sadie Robertson Huff is reminding her followers to slow down and take notice of “the beauty that God [is] creating.”

“Last night, we were all at my parents’ house and the sunset was just absolutely gorgeous,” Huff said in an Instagram video. “And Christian said, ‘Oh, this is like a COVID sunset.’ The sunset has probably looked like this a lot of nights since COVID, but we noticed during COVID, because every single night, what were we doing? We were outside on the porch, looking at the sunset because that was pretty much the highlight of the day when you’re at home all day.

She continued, “I would get so excited for the sunrise, I would get so excited for the sunset, and I just remember, like, going out and looking at it and seeing just the beauty that God was creating. I kind of want to put that same reminder on our heart, that I think God is doing something, and I think that seasons have changed. We’ve been busy, I’ll be the first to admit. Me, too, right? And I think that, because of the business, I just hadn’t seen it, and seeing it up close, it was like, wow! This is so good. Hopefully, God enlightens all of our eyes to see that God’s doing something in this space and may we be drawn back to it.”

In the post’s caption, Huff called these sunsets and sunrises “priceless.”

“@christian_huff and I used to watch the sunset every night together, and the other night reminded me of how special those moments were, and how much I missed them. It got me thinking… were the sunsets that good or did I just notice them?” she wondered.

Huff continued, “God is still working, He hasn’t changed, you just stopped noticing him. There is a story in the Bible where Jacob is missing a moment, Genesis 28:16 says ‘Jacob realized, ‘Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.’”

“The sun sets every single night, just as God’s presence is with us every single day! It’s easy to get busy, distracted, and miss an evening sunset – but I never want to get so busy that I miss the presence of God in my life,” she concluded.

In another recent post, Huff shared how seeing more of nature’s beauty influenced her thoughts on worship.

“Remember the song So Will I? I loveeee that song,” she wrote. “It talks about all of creation praising God, and if creation sings His praises – so will I. When I saw the sunflowers all facing towards the sun it was one of the coolest things. They literally change their position throughout the day to be facing towards the sun. I want to be in that posture of worship with my life. Constantly adjusting to face the light… thank you sun flowers for preaching to me this week.”

Huff frequently shares messages of faith on her “WHOA That’s Good” podcast, which recently won the Podcast Impact Award at this year’s K-Love Fan Awards.

“My heart is SO full! Wow. Thank you so much for voting for Whoa That’s Good to win the podcast impact award,” she wrote on Instagram. “That is the goal of the podcast – that it would impact us to grow in our relationship with God and grow in wisdom! I’m beyond grateful to do what I do and can’t wait for all of the conversations to come!”

Movieguide® previously reported on Huff’s faith:

Huff noted how pruning trees creates healthy growth. Like trees, we also need to cut away the bad to make new.

“2 Corinthians 5:17 says this, ‘Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come,’” Huff shared. “So many of us, we have to let go of the old so that we can even enjoy what God has in the new.”

“You see, it says in the word a good tree will produce good fruit and a bad tree will produce bad fruit. That sounds obvious, right? There’s so much truth to that,” she said.

If you’re walking with Christ, you’re like a tree that produces good fruit. If you’re not, you’re like a tree that won’t produce anything good.

“Every relationship I was stepping into was not good because I wasn’t [producing good fruit] and thank God I actually did slow it down a little bit with Christian and pursue my relationship with the Lord first — let God redeem my heart, let God restore what was broken — so that I could step in and truly get the fullness of what God had for me in the new,” she shared.
