‘I Prayed for a Miracle’: Nick Cannon Clings to Christ After 5-Month-Old Son Dies of Brain Cancer

By Movieguide® Staff

Comedian, actor and TV personality Nick Cannon recently shared with the viewers of “The Nick Cannon Show” that his 5-month-old son, Zen, died from a brain tumor earlier this week.

The host said that his son was born in June but noticed that Zen was not breathing correctly.

“We thought it would be a routine process, and we went in just to check his sinuses,” Cannon said.

However, doctors found that Zen had a malignant brain tumor.

“We were hoping for the best,” he said. “We were faithful and hopeful for that time. Thanksgiving, we had an interesting turn and the process sped up and ultimately … it was cancer in the brain, and the tumor began to grow a lot faster.”

Cannon revealed that he held his son “for the last time” on Sunday, Dec. 5.

Cannon shared the 10-minute segment from his show on social media on Tues. Dec. 7, two days after Zen’s death.

“I have so much faith in the Lord. I have so much faith in God,” Cannon, 41, said. “People were often telling me that I should pray for miracles, and I did pray for a miracle. I prayed for the miracle of God’s strength. That’s why I’m here with you guys today.”

“He puts the most and heaviest weight on the shoulders of his strongest soldiers,” Cannon added. I’m here showing that I can fight through this.”

The father of seven also thanked loved ones and the hospital for caring for him, Zen, and his family.
