Former Chicago Bull star Jaden Ivey responded after he says his team released him following comments he made about the NBA’s support of Pride Month.

“The world can proclaim LGBTQ, right?” Ivey said in a video last week, per Fox News. “They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA. They proclaim it. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.’ They proclaim it. They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim in the streets. Unrighteousness. So, how is it that one can’t speak righteousness? Who are they to say that this man is crazy?”

The Bulls organization claimed the comments were “detrimental to the team,” announcing that they were waiving him.

Ivey responded to the controversy surrounding his now-viral statements, standing firm in his faith and God’s truth.

“I think the media holds their own standard to what they feel is needed to be put out on platforms, right? They put these wicked things on platforms to make it known who they serve, to make it known who their god is, who they proclaim,” Ivey said on the “Pinpoint Podcast.” “And in terms of LGBTQ, right, I’m not against the man or the woman. I’m against what is contrary to the word of God. Man is not supposed to lie with a man, and a woman is not supposed to lie with a woman.”

“And so as a Christian, we are supposed to stand for righteousness, the truth, the truth of the Bible, the word of God. What I was born from — my mother and my father, my dad had intercourse with my mother and that bore me. That’s exactly how it was from the beginning, right?” the athlete continued.

He explained that the media rejects that foundational truth, putting LGBTQ themes on “Disney Channel. They put it on all these places where a lot of children watch. And God is not pleased. God is not pleased with this — how they’re indoctrinating these children to not live the life that God has for them,” Ivey emphasized.

He knows that until more people speak the truth in love, the media is “going to keep putting these things out there.”

“They’re making it known what they stand for and what they believe and what they feel is right. So for me as a Christian, as a born-again Christian who believes in Jesus Christ, I can proclaim the truth, what the word of God says, and I can do that with freedom. I have a mouth to speak. No one can stop me,” the basketball star said.

While he’s still open to playing basketball again, Ivey knows that he will ultimately be held accountable for how he lives out what God calls him to.

We applaud Ivey for using his platform to show millions of people what the Bible says and to speak the truth in love.
