By Movieguide® Contributor
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his wife, Marissa, became parents last week.
The couple shared the news on their Instagram pages, writing, “Shae Lynn Lawrence. Born 1/4/25 at 4:01 am, 10 pounds 2 oz. Mommy and daddy love you so much!!! Thank you Jesus for our girl!!”
According to Parents, Shae is of Irish and Gaelic origin, meaning “Stately, gift.” Lynn is Welsh, meaning “Lake.”

“Thankful for such a great wife and partner, and soon to be the best mom. Praising Jesus for our family and all he has given us. Can’t wait to meet our girl,” Trevor wrote in another post.
This isn’t the only big change the Lawrences have experienced recently. Trevor’s season ended early after sustaining an injury late last year.
He recently underwent surgery “to repair an AC joint injury in his left shoulder in the coming weeks,” NFL.com reported.
“Lawrence sustained the head injury while scrambling in the first half of Sunday’s game, rolling left and attempting to slide when Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair launched into Lawrence with an extended forearm, illegally hitting the quarterback in the head. Lawrence immediately went into the fencing position, a symptom of a concussion, and later exited the field on a golf cart,” the outlet continued.
After his season-ending injury, Lawrence took to social media and shared Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

“I’m going to miss being out there with my brothers the rest of the way,” Lawrence wrote. “This isn’t at all what I pictured this year looking like. I’ve been leaning heavy on this verse lately. I don’t know why things happen sometimes but I do believe how you respond is more important than what happens. I’m so blessed to be able to do what I do and I’m not going to let some adversity muddy the vision! Better days are ahead.”
