Actresses Jen Lilley and Brianna Brown Keen know personally that God watches over us, even when we face disappointment.
“[Faith] helps me not feel rejected, because it’s like, look, I already know I’m loved,” Lilley said on Brown Keen’s podcast where the two discussed experiences that have led them to believe in God’s power. “I don’t need to book this role in order for me to feel validated. Do I want to book it? Of course.”
She continued, “All of us have had those moments where you’re screaming. You’re like, ‘I can’t believe this is it’ like, when you book the role, and we’ve all had moments where we’re like, ‘I really wanted that one, but ultimately, I just believe I’m on a higher path that’s not really dictated completely by me.’ I just have to do things with love and excellence.”
Brown Keen opened up about a time that God pulled her through a dark moment in her life.
“I had a moment where I felt light go through me. When I was like, I wanted to die,” she revealed. “I felt light go through me and I had a huge epiphany, like, I had a huge 180 when I was hospitalized from being suicidal when I was 14. Like, had this big like, ‘wow.’ And that was my God experience.”

Lilley chimed in, saying, “I’ve witnessed so many miracles firsthand.”
Brown Keen added, “For people to say, like, why can you take big, bold action? It’s like, well, because I know that there’s something bigger than me, because I know certain things, you know?”
Lilley explained how even with deeper knowledge of science, there is so much evidence of God.
“I have a degree in science, and it’s actually, the more you study science, actually the harder it is to not have some sort of faith. Truly,” she said.
Psalm 19:1 supports this idea when it says “The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.”
Lilley frequently uses her platform to share the goodness of God.
Recently, she released a new devotional titled Wake Up Your Faith to do just that. In a post to Instagram, she shared,
“When I got asked to write a 365 devo, I said no,” she wrote on Instagram in October. “But God. As I sat in prayer with the daunting task, worship music blaring, knowing if I was going to do this, mine was going to be different.”
She continued, “Wake Up Your Faith has monthly themes so that you’ll go from hitting the Spiritual snooze button to FULLY awake in one year (or less!) I cannot wait to walk alongside you each day!! So like @hiforrest says, Jesus, Your way’s better. Let’s do.”
Lilley’s message is a powerful reminder that God’s with us no matter what happens.
