Jenny Marrs Reflects on God’s Faithfulness: ‘He Is Always Working’

By Movieguide® Contributor

HGTV star Jenny Marrs shared a passage from the Psalms that speaks to the Lord’s unfailing promises.

“I happened upon a tucked-away truth in the Psalms that jumped off the page this morning. ‘The Lord will work out his plans for my life…’” Marrs shared on Instagram, quoting Psalm 138:8. “In the margin, I had scribbled notes from a season of uncertainty in my life. Today, as I reread my questions and the date jotted beside them, I can only thank God the profound truth in these ten words.”

“At the time I didn’t know what was ahead. It was a season of change and uncertainty and I clung to the promise that God was working even when I couldn’t see it,” she continued. “And it turns out. The promise holds true. His plans are always better. He is always working. He is faithful.”

Marrs is thankful that she wrote down her doubts in her Bible so she could see God’s faithfulness when she returned to this passage years later.

“If you’re in a season of writing out endless questions in the margin, keep trusting. His plans for your life will be beyond what you could ever conjure up on your own,” she said. “As David says earlier in the same Psalm, His promises are backed by the honor of His name. Our good. His glory.”

The truth in Marrs’ post is seen throughout the Bible as the faithfulness of the Lord is revealed time and time again. Whether it be during the rebellion of the Israelites, the death and resurrection of Jesus or the lives of the apostles, the Lord works all things for His glory.

We can trust in God’s promises that He works all things for good because He has proven His faithfulness and goodness countless times.

Marrs and her husband Dave are in the middle of FIXER TO FABULOUS Season 5.

She previously shared her prayer for the show: “Jesus, all of our gifts come from your hand. Thank you for the opportunities before us this year, may we steward our gifts well and may we point others to you. Amen.”

“Our prayer for this season continues to be that our show is a light in this dark world,” she said. “The privilege of being invited into your living room each week is not one we take lightly and we sincerely hope you walk away each Tuesday inspired and encouraged to make your home a beautiful reflection of you and your family. 🤍”

FIXER TO FABULOUS star Jenny Marrs calls her twins’ birth “a story only God could write.”

“When I was twenty-nine weeks pregnant with the twins, I unexpectedly went into pre-term labor and, after twelve hours of medical intervention to prevent a premature delivery, I was airlifted to Little Rock because our local hospital’s NICU wasn’t equipped to care for twenty-nine-week-old preemies at the time,” Jenny wrote in a recent Instagram post.

She explained that she and her husband, Dave, were “given every worst-case scenario” and told that the twins would be born in the next 24 hours.

“We absorbed their words in silence,” Jenny said. “We huddled together on the hospital bed and prayed and cried and begged God for another hour for the boys to grow in utero. And, then, when one hour passed, we exhaled briefly and started praying for another hour. Every single hour that passed was a small miracle.”
