HGTV Star Shares This Bible-Based Reminder With Followers

HGTV’s Jenny Marrs is reflecting on balancing the good and bad in life, and taking heart in God’s love through it all.
“This past week has been so full of joy and goodness and excitement,” she captioned a recent Instagram post. “But, it’s also been soul-crushingly hard. I sat with a friend yesterday, tears soaking our salads, as she shared news about diagnoses that are too awful to comprehend and grief and the Hope of Jesus. In the midst, we also shared about adventures and living life and savoring the moments before us.”
Marrs shared that she has been taking time to appreciate the good things in her life, like spending time with her children and taking Italian lessons, but is still struggling to figure out how to handle the ups and downs of life.
“May all of us struggling through the juxtaposition of sorrow and joy cling to Hope and find refreshment in this reminder I read just this morning, ‘…you are deeply loved by God. Be at peace: take heart and be strong.’ (Daniel 10:19b),” she concluded.
Marrs often shares encouraging messages with her Instagram followers.

“God has a good plan for each of our lives. And, sometimes, He anoints us with our calling when we are a teenager, like David. Other times, He waits until we are eighty years old, like Moses,” Marrs explained. “I don’t know who needs to hear this today but please remember this: you are not unqualified because you’re ‘too young’ and you are not counted out because ‘you’re too old.’ Just keep on running your race well because you are here – living and breathing, right now, this very day, at this exact point in history – for a purpose.”
She also shares her thoughts on her Substack page. Her latest post emphasized the strength of God’s love for us.
“We can be at peace, we can take heart, and we can be strong because God deeply loves us,” Marrs wrote. “He doesn’t promise there won’t be pain or hard times, in fact, he clearly warns us of the trials and heartaches we will face in this life. Yet, in the hard, in the dark, in the pain, He is right there as a bright, trustworthy light. Because of love. Because of a deep, unmeasurable, unending love. We can rest in that love. We can face hard things because of that love. We can resist fear because of that love. We can go wherever He calls because of that love.”
