Joe Rogan Hears About God’s Love Thanks to Ministry Leader

Podcaster Joe Rogan and his listeners heard the Gospel from Alan Graham, founder of Christian outreach ministry Mobile Loaves & Fishes, while on Rogan’s podcast.
“I live my life to the best that I possibly can, which is simple: love God and love your neighbor as yourself. So that’s what we’re gonna do,” Graham said. “I believe I’m sitting in this chair right now because of how God has architected us over a few years, coming together, and now we’re here.”
“I think you’re a very unusual person, because there’s a lot of people out there that profess to be Christians, they profess to be in whatever their denomination is, whatever their religion is, but they don’t necessarily live it,” Rogan said of Graham. “You abandoned your beautiful house and moved into one of these tiny homes in this homeless community. And then when we went and toured the community and got to see how you interact with everybody, it’s beautiful. It’s really very extraordinary. And I don’t think there’s very many people that would do that, what you’ve done.”
A former real estate entrepreneur, Graham felt called to found Mobile Loaves & Fishes in 1998, providing food and clothing to those in need. Starting with just a truck, Mobile Loaves & Fishes now provides housing and support for over 400 homeless people in the Austin, Texas area.
“With more than 6 million meals served, MLF has grown to become the largest prepared feeding program to the homeless in Central Texas and has spawned similar food truck programs in other cities across the country,” the ministry’s website reads.
Mobile Loaves & Fishes has also created Community First! Village, “a 51-acre master planned development that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women coming out of chronic homelessness,” per their website.
Atlanta Falcon Bijan Robinson recently donated $300,000 to the planned development, writing on Instagram, “Got to do something today that’s bigger than football or anything up to this point. God blessed me with the opportunity to bless @mobileloavesand community first village in Austin Tx with this nice donation of love!”
“The interesting thing is how [the people we’ve helped] have shaped my life, and that’s where the miracle sets in,” Graham continued. “When you drive around [cities] and see the homeless crisis … it appears hopeless. It’s just a mess. … Our community shows that there is hope, unbelievable hope, if we do things right and get our act together as a civil society.”
He concluded, “It’s been an incredible journey of faith, service and community.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Rogan’s podcast:
In the Feb. 7 episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan and NFL star Aaron Rodgers talked about how the world needs God more than ever.
“I think as time rolls on, people are going to understand the need to have some sort of divine structure to things, some sort of belief in the sanctity of love and of truth, and a lot of that comes from a religion,” Rogan said.
“A lot of people’s moral compass and the guidelines that they’ve used and follow to live a just and righteous life has come from religion,” he continued. “And unfortunately, a lot of very intelligent people, they dismiss all the positive aspects of religion because they think that the stories are mere superstitious fairy tales, that they have no place in this modern world; ‘we’re inherently good, and your ethics are based on your own moral compass, and we all have one,’ and that’s not necessarily true.”
The host pointed out that the world is sinful and that the need for God is urgent.
“We need Jesus. For real, like if you came back now, like Jesus, if you’re thinking about coming back right now, now’s a good time. Now’s a good time,” he repeated.
