THE CHOSEN star Jonathan Roumie met many other celebrities at SNL’s 50th anniversary show and revealed how many have either watched the show or are interested in watching it.
“One of the former SNL cast members, Victoria Jackson, recognized me in like this sort of cocktail hour thing,” Roumie said on the SHERRI SHOW. “She’s like, ‘Are you the guy that played — you’re Jesus, right?’ I said, ‘Well, only on TV.’ But then she’s like, ‘Let’s go meet people.” I said, ‘Okay.'”
“So, she started introducing me to all these different people like Jason Sudeikis and Jim Gaffigan. And Jim Gaffigan is like, ‘Oh, I love your show.’ And Lin-Manuel Miranda is a fan. And he liked it. He’s like, ‘I just got to Season 3.'”
“It was kind of a shock,” Roumie shared.

At one point, THE CHOSEN star was introduced to Pedro Pascal.
Pascal told Roumie, “‘I think my godmother is a huge fan of your show, but I haven’t seen it.’ He’s like, ‘I’m going to watch it now.'”
“So, you know, getting the word out little by little,” Roumie said of THE CHOSEN.
THE CHOSEN Season 6 will debut on Prime Video on Nov. 15, 2026. This season will bring the story to its climax as it will cover Christ’s death and resurrection.
“The hour has come. Before the sun sets, Jesus will be dead. Season 6 captures the historic events of Jesus’ final day through the lives of those who love Him — and those who condemn Him. Pharisees call it justice. Romans call it peace. Followers call it murder. But in the face of loneliness and death, Jesus stands resolute in a plan that has always led to one place: the cross,” THE CHOSEN summarized the upcoming season on its website.
Portraying the most important moment in history — Jesus’ crucifixion — wasn’t easy for Roumie.
“On this day 2,000 years ago, the weight of every sin, every sorrow, every broken heart was carried up a hill… and nailed to a cross,” he wrote on social media earlier this month. “Stepping into this moment was one of the most physically and spiritually demanding experiences of my life…and yet barely scratches the surface.”
“Lord, let us never forget the cost of Your love,” he concluded the post.
Roumie’s encounters at SNL’s 50th highlight how THE CHOSEN continues to reach new audiences, even in the highest levels of Hollywood, as anticipation builds for its most powerful and pivotal season yet.
