In light of the Christmas season, Justin Bieber took a moment to reflect on all God has brought him through.

“I grew up in a system that rewarded my gift but didn’t always protect my soul,” he said in a vulnerable Instagram post. “There were moments I felt used, rushed, shaped into something I didn’t fully choose. That kind of pressure leaves wounds you don’t see on stage. I’ve carried anger. I’ve asked God why. But Jesus keeps meeting me in the middle of the pain-not excusing what hurt me but teaching me how not to become bitter.”

He then quoted Psalm 147:3, which says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Bieber explained how being in the music industry has hurt him, but Jesus has healed him.

“I’ve been through pain that shaped me before I had the words to name it. I was in a system that took more than it protected,” he explained.

“I’m not speaking as someone still broken — I’m speaking as someone Jesus has already healed…What happened to me was real. But it doesn’t get the final word. Jesus didn’t just help me cope — He restored my identity. I’m not a product. I’m not what the industry demanded. I’m a son.”

Bieber explained that despite the ways he has been wronged, he chooses to forgive those who hurt him: “Because l’m healed, I can forgive — not to excuse injustice, but to make sure it doesn’t keep reproducing itself through me.”

He referenced Luke 23:34, which reads, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

Bieber continued, “I don’t want to burn the music industry down. I want to see it made new — safer, more honest, more human. Healing doesn’t make me silent. It makes me free to tell the truth without hatred.”

The pop star believes Jesus healed him so he can in turn help others: “Jesus didn’t just heal me for myself. He healed me so I could help change what once hurt me.”

While the music industry certainly took advantage of Bieber’s early fame, he now chooses to focus on faith and his family.

On Christmas Day, he posted a sweet photo of himself and his wife Hailey, wishing his followers a merry Christmas.

Bieber’s message is an important reminder about the power of forgiveness and that no one is ever too far gone from the grace of God.
