Kathie Lee Gifford shared some good news: “joy heals.”

“Joy heals. Proverbs 17:22 ✨” she shared in an Instagram post on Aug. 8.

She shared a photo of the verse, which reads, “A joyful heart is good medicine.”

The next day, Gifford shared some things she’s joyful about.

“Today is a day for rejoicing! First of all, I rejoice for my precious friend, Hoda Mama, on the occasion of her Birthday,” she said of her former TODAY co-host, Hoda Kotb. “She is one of the most spectacular people I have ever known and I adore her and I want all her dreams to come true.”

“The second thing that I rejoice about, is that my precious husband, Frank, went home to Jesus 10 years ago today and he has been at peace and filled with joy and glory since that very day,” she continued. “I find comfort in that. So, I’m rejoicing in the Lord and how He cares for His loved ones, for His children.”

Gifford shared photos of herself smiling with Kotb and Frank.

“Bless all of you today. And I hope you can find the same kind of Shalom in your lives,” she told her followers.

Gifford has also had another reason to celebrate — the birth of her granddaughter, Rosie May, who was born on June 3.

“Such a joy to hold my beautiful daughters beautiful daughter. Happy Birthday to her Mama, my precious Cassidy!,” she said with a video of her singing “A Bushel and a Peck” to Rosie May.

Last year, Gifford told Women’s World, “The key to happiness at any stage in your life is joy.”

The Teddy Bear Award® winner says there are many things in life that we are powerless to do anything about, but 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says we should pray without ceasing.

“How do we do that? Our life is a prayer to God and it’s the only thing that makes sense,” she said. “I’ve been doing it since I was 12 years old and the only times I’ve gotten really screwed up is when I stopped doing it.”

When asked how she finds joy and peace, she told Women’s World, “I don’t know the answer, except His name is Jesus.”

Gifford previously shared in Guideposts that love for the Lord is shown through joy.

“The joy of the Lord is your strength. That’s Nehemiah 8:10, a verse that has always been important to me,” she said.

“People ask me where I get my energy. But what most people perceive as energy is really strength of spirit,” she continued. “It comes from the joy of knowing God, loving him, and being loved by him.”

It’s incredible that joy can make such a big difference in our lives.
