FROZEN star Kristen Bell and her family enjoyed some much needed time away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood this summer.
“We went to Tennessee for the summer and stayed on the lake, and my children are lake rats. They were in every morning, they were jumping in and getting way too close to the turtles and collecting frogs,” Bell told PEOPLE, calling the vacation “healthy.”
She and her husband Dax Shepard share two daughters, Lincoln, 12 and Delta, 10.
“I think it’s really healthy for me and my family to burst our bubble often and get outside of the city of Los Angeles, as much as we love it, and just see the rest of the world,” Bell said.

The actress added, “The rhythm of the day was perfect because in the morning, we would jump in the lake and we would go on the boat. We would get really sweaty and then we would shower, and then we would drive into Nashville, which is a glorious city.”
In addition to enjoying time away, Bell and Shepard are celebrating another special milestone: Shepard’s sobriety.
In a photo reel including sweet pictures of Shepard and their daughters, Bell shared how proud she is of her husband.
“This is what 21 years of sobriety looks like. Lots of hugging. Hugging everyone and everything. Hugging life. Thank you for getting sober, @daxshepard. I am eternally grateful to have you. We all are 💕” she said in the caption.
The couple’s fans were moved by the amazing achievement.
“Happy 21 years sober, Mr. @daxshepard. We are all so proud of you and so eternally grateful for your honesty and vulnerability through this journey. Wishing you a lifetime of celebrations jam packed with hugs,” one person said.
Another person added, “Congratulations! So happy for all of you 🥰”
Shepard and Bell have been together since 2007 when they met at a dinner party. The couple became engaged in 2010 and later married in 2013. They welcomed their children shortly after, which they say is one of the greatest joys of their lives.
“When I have failures in life, I get to come home and still be dad,” Shepard said in 2023. “It is the most transformative experience. You can feel it’s why you are here.”
It sounds like Bell, Shepard and their daughters are thriving!
