AMERICAN IDOL alum Emmy Russell, granddaughter of Loretta Lynn, is expecting another baby with husband Tyler Ward.
This week, Russell shared a video on social media as she gave her daughter, Taylor Raydiant, 12 months, a positive pregnancy test. Ward picked her up when she came in the room and came over to hug Russell.
“Secrets out!! Baby #2,” Russell and Ward wrote in their joint caption.
Last February, Russell married Ward, finished in AMERICAN IDOL’s top five contestants and gave birth to Taylor.
“My labor was long, but it was worth it,” Russell told PEOPLE. “I remember looking at her and she immediately had…her eyes were wide open, they sat her on me, and she just looked at me, she knew I was her mom, and I just looked at her and like, ugh, it makes me cry still.”

When she was pregnant, she believed that God told her about her baby.
“I was sitting in my bed, as weird as this sounds, I literally heard, I felt like I heard God tell me, ‘Emmy, you’re pregnant, and your baby is Radiant.’ And I just heard the name Radiant. And so I was like, ‘Okay, well…’ And I felt the color pink,” she said.
Then, she took a test and found out she was pregnant.
“We said we had this name Radiant planned out, and it’s weird, but I just felt like that was the name,” Russell said. “And then I was thinking, ‘Well, Tyler’s middle name’s Ray.’ And then I told his mom and she was like, ‘Well, it’s a family name.'”
“So her name is Taylor Raydiant Ward, R-A-Y-D-I-A-N-T,” Ward clarified. “We went with Taylor Ray for Tyler Ray, because she looks very similar and I’m freaking out. It’s amazing.”
After Taylor was born, Russell said they had a hard time with her in the hospital, due to some health issues.
“I’m just really grateful for all those prayers, and just going through all the comments. It just made me cry because I was just seeing how many moms go through just all that struggle and hard pregnancies and hard birth, hard labor and deliveries,” she said at the time. “Having a baby is so scary.”
Russell had announced her pregnancy with Taylor on an episode of the “Got it from My Momma” podcast.
“Right out of AMERICAN IDOL, I didn’t know,” she explained. “So, you know, that’s kind of been the journey. So I’m so excited. I’m so looking forward to it.”
